Tony Cealy

For over two decades I have been a self employed drama and theatre practitioner, trainer, tutor, and workshop facilitator specialising in the development and delivery of a range of innovative arts-based programmes and projects to educate and empower socially excluded people and groups throughout europe and increasingly internationally.

During this time I have won contracts and created projects and programmes with various voluntary groups, charities and statutory services in health and wellbeing, mental health, social care, criminal justice, education, substance misuse, housing and regeneration, youth services and community development.

I make theatre and have planed and delivered numerous workshops in a range of community contexts using improvisation and interactive participatory performance methods. The performances use improvisation in order to discover through spontaneity a different kind of insight into social conflicts and social psychology than might be possible in a scripted piece.

My work is focused on social and behavioural change, developing pro-social skills, increased self-esteem and greater self-awareness in people at risk.
