LIVE Promotion and Engagement Tools

Overview

For each promotional strategy that was previously discussed, below is a description of each LIVE tool that is available for you to use to promote the LIVE campaign in your community. Be sure to use as many strategies and tools as possible to reach your target audiences.

Public Relations (PR): Use the following tools for the media to announce or follow-up an event or in tandem with advertising.

·  Sample Press Releases – include with Press Kit* and send to newspaper, local TV or radio station, community publications or magazines to:

o  Announce organization or coalition has joined LIVE campaign (click here)

·  Sample Op Ed – send to newspaper or other community publications to

o  Promote the LIVE message and resources to your community (click here)

Advertisements: Use the following tools at available media or other appropriate outlets (located in Section IV of the Toolkit)

·  Print advertisements – for local newspaper or other community publications, organizational newsletters

·  Poster templates – distribute in local physician offices, outpatient health-related clinics, businesses, or display at community event or health fair

·  Flyer templates – for direct mail or email, bulletin boards, or as inserts with church bulletins or paychecks

·  LIVE promotional items – for give-aways at community events

·  Radio PSA Scripts – see samples provided in the Toolkit

Events: Use the following presentations to deliver the LIVE campaign messages

·  LIVE “community” presentations – for the general public at community events, town hall meetings or with a trained speakers bureau

·  LIVE “buy-in” presentation – for your staff, board of directors, or coalition members to “buy-in” to the LIVE campaign
