Thank you I wish to thank my fantastic friends who thought about a leaving party for me and then invited over one hundred of my friends to gather and provide tasty food. It will of course be a great wrench leaving St Edward’s after almost 82years in Romford, but of course I will be local to my girls & families and I have already made new friends during my visits to Suffolk. Many, many thanks. Wally McNeela.

St Peter's School Summer Fayre: The Summer Fayre took place on 24 June and we would like to thank all the parishioners who attended the event and who generously donated their time and money to make the Fayre a huge success this year. The fantastic sum of over £9,300 was raised. Thanksalsofor the wonderful plants that were donated this year, they were very popular. If you would like to give us any feedback on how you thought the Fayre went or ideas for the Fayre next year please email Claire Clist at . Thank you once again for your support. The Summer Fayre committee.

News of the Diocese

National Eucharistic Congress

Following the International Eucharistic Congress held in Cebu, Philippines in January 2016, and responding positively to the exhortation for Bishops’ Conferences to hold National Eucharistic Congresses to enhance and promote the Adoration of the Lord in the Eucharist, and to give witness to our faith, the Bishops of England and Wales resolved to hold a National Eucharistic Congress for England and Wales in 2018. This will take place 7th – 9th September 2018 in Liverpool. Fr Daniel Kelly (Basildon Parish) and Mr Denis Courtney, from our parish, are the co-ordinators for our Diocese of Brentwood. Further information about this important event will follow in due course.
