President’s Council

  • LobbyGuard looking at creating accounts for people who frequently visit the building.
  • FOT – late of registrations is reason for delay. Next meeting is October 19 at 7pm at Senior High– Public can speak. Average class size is 18 at FOT – we are 19 to 20 – Frankstown is around 20.
  • School Performance Report – District went up. Overall Frankstown and FOT did well. Our scores are good but lower than the other schools. Leaders are looking at it. Example: We have an excellent teacher who is preparing studentsfor the real world. Took a chance and test scores were lower because students weren’t “taught to the test”; re-working for 2015-2016 school year.

  • GoMath had decent attendance, but program wouldn’t allow it to be recorded.
  • Mr. Gildea and Dr. Endler working on guest teacher program to deal with sub issues. Teaching certificates are drastically lower. People who have interest in subbing and want to be on sublist can do so. Train those. Look at Tigerwires for guest teacher. Training on 10/24 and 10/31. System pushes to certified teachers first then to guest teachers. Training location TBD.
  • Possible Assembly – FOT Jim “Basketball” Jones – 3-pointers for life. They are asking if we want. FOT has to do 2 assemblies K-3 and 4-6. Are we interested? It costs $1,400. Foundation fund can be used for assemblies and guest speakers. This is for School-wide positive behavior. Please send this information to Trish Gray; End of January could be next deadline for HASD foundation.
