Whilst I write this newsletter it seems that the good weather has finally arrived but I’m not getting out the fly rugs just yet as we have our Picnic Ride to come and as most of you know the sun seems to evade us on that day!
We had a busy Easter with some great jumping (and running) at our Easter Egg Show and some excellent tuition at our Easter Instructional. (We are fortunate that Michal Lowthorpe is taking some great photos of these events which you can purchase from her. Information is on the JDH Pony Club Face Book page.) We also organised a record number of tests and started the Pony Race training with a fantastic and informative day being held at Malzard Racing with two UK Pony Club Pony Racing Instructors.
Unfortunately we had to cancel our Triathlon and Tetrathalon events due to insufficient numbers. We are going to persevere though with these events as those who do take part love it and it seems unfair on them to not hold such a fun event. We will be sending out our enrolment squads soon to draft in some more competitors so that we can hold these events in the future...... all you need to be able to do is shoot, run and swim!

Forthcoming Events
Wednesday 6th June – BBQ Picnic Ride, starting in St Ouen’s and finishing at the Sahai’s home (still in St Ouens). An application form is attached and further details will be sent nearer the time.
Saturday 9th June – Heights jumping at The Country Horse Show which is being held at the Riding Club field in St Lawrence. Whilst entries have now closed, late entries will be taken. I have attached the schedule for you.
Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July - Summer Show at the BSJA field. A schedule is attached, read it carefully and send your entries to Michal Lowthorpe by Friday 15th June. Also remember that there is a chance that you can sponsor your own class and be able to present your rosettes.
Wednesday 13th June is our first Mounted Games Rally in the Pony Club field. Again an application form is attached and your entry can be posted or emailed to Sophie Oliveira.
Monday 23rd July – CAMP. Application forms have been sent out. If you haven’t received one let me know!
Once again we have been asked to put on a Pony Club Musical Ride at the West Show and St Lawrence Charity Show. We need between 10 and 16 children to take part. For those of you who haven’t experienced it before ‘The Musical Ride Team’ dress up in fancy dress and perform a ride to music. It’s great fun and looks very impressive! We are planning to hold the selection rally on Thursday 7th June for all those interested at the Pony Club field with weekly practices to follow. Further details will be sent out over the weekend.
SECOND HAND UNIFORM SHOP – We still need more stock! Please contact Debbie on 07797728549 if you have anything you would like to sell on.
Pony Racing takes place on Sunday 20th May at Les Landes with the first race at 1.30. Come and watch your friends in the two races taking place. The jockeys have been training hard and we are expecting to see a very tight race!
