This is professional work serving as a consultant in one or more health promotion and public health education programs; or for a large county public health unit; or for several smaller county public health units; or providing advanced health promotion and public health education services in a specialty area(s).

  • Coordinates the development and implementation of comprehensive health promotion and public health education programs.
  • Markets public health through implementation of projects.
  • Coordinates health promotion and public health education programs and activities with other agencies, civic, school and professional groups.
  • Conducts health promotion and public health education classes, workshops and seminars for agency personnel, civic groups and the general public.
  • Advocates health promotion and public health education through participation in workshops or on planning boards, health care projects, advisory councils, and professional and civic organizations.
  • Serves as a resource person for technical knowledge in the field of health promotion and public health education.
  • Coordinates the preparation and submission of promotional materials and information releases regarding health promotion and public health education.
  • Evaluates health promotion and public health education programs and activities.
  • Analyzes needs assessments in order to plan health promotion and public health education programs and activities.
  • Provides health promotion and public health education consulting services to community organizations.
  • Provides training to develop audiovisual materials for health education projects and activities.
  • Reviews health education practices to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Works with local decision makers to formulate and implement policies to promote and sustain healthy lifestyles.
