PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES:
RPG/IV with ILE, Free-Form RPG/IV, RPG (IV, III & II), CL. ISQL, Embedded SQL and COBOL (last 1999). I started professionally in RPG/III in 1985 along with CL, SDA, SEU, etc. I took RPG/II and COBOL in College getting an A in both in 1986. I started embedded SQL in 1992, I have Java 2 (1.2, 1.3, 1.5 and 6.0), HTML, XHTML, XML and JavaScripts experience but I am not a Senior Programmer yet like I am on the AS/400 in RPG (All) and in CL.

COMPUTER OPERATIONS:
In over half of my AS/400 positions, I have been used as a Computer Operations Expert because I started in Computer Operations in 1981. In fact I have owned an AS/400 since June of 1991 and I have done all upgrades and system management over the years. At many of my positions I have been the Lead AS/400 Computer Operations Expert like at Lear 2001-2002, Hoeganaes (1996-97), Volusia County Court Clerk (1992 to 1996), the Central Bank of Uganda (Kampala Africa in 1991-92,) the Orlando Police Department (1989 only), Abington Memorial Hospital (System/38), and my two Companies (ASO and IICS ). At IICS, I was granted a License in 1995 to 1996 to teach AS/400 Computer Operations by the State of FL like I did in Africa. I have been the Security Officer at most of my positions and I have done many System Upgrades (Lear 5.1, 4.5, 4.4 and 4.3 plus countless ECS PTF’s. I have had many Networking projects, TCP/IP, Frame Relay, Performance Tuning, an ORACLE Upgrade, RISC Conversions, FTP Projects, DRDA (Remote SQL) and countless conversions, implementations and interfaces (two honored by the State of FL). I am a very good Operations Resource as well as a Software Resource. In 2005 I worked with modern DB2 and I have tried to stay as current as possible by using DB2 at my Consulting jobs ever since. I reviewed the entire IBM DB2 Red Book in 2008 and I refresh my skills periodically.

EXPERIENCE:
International Institute of Computer Science dba, IICS. From 8/88 to the Present.
After moving to Florida in 1988, I started a Computer Consulting Company called Application Consulting Experts (ACE) to meet the needs of the booming Consulting Market. In 1991, I expanded the business and bought an AS/400 so I could do remote Consulting. After being recruited to research and design AS/400 educational software for Computer Solutions from 1989 to 1992, I decided to rename the company and to expand the scope of the business to train AS/400 Programmers and Operators for Y2K. IICS was granted a License to teach the AS/400 by the Florida Department of Education in 1995. IICS plans to design Web Based Training Courses in the future and to continue the Consulting side of the business as the primary revenue source. Below are the Contracts and Jobs I have had since starting the IICS.

AS/400 Consultant using RPG/IV and RPG/III in a Data3 Manufacturing Environment. April-July of 2008 in Wisconsin with Exacta.

I enhanced many applications including G/L, QC Tools, WO Allocations with an auto email report, Template Pricing and a lot more. Used DB2, RPG/IV with some ILE, RPG/III and CL.

American Sports Organization - ASO - 1/2003 to 4/2008. Owner/Programmer/Sales in a very flexible eBusiness venture.
ASO sold over 3,000 items on-line and I devote time to the venture when I was not working as a Computer Professional. I did web programming in HTML, Java 2, XHTML, XML and JavaScripts respectively. I did RPG Programming on my AS/400 for ASO when needed. I closed the on-line eCommerce Website because my distributor was unreliable and would not fix my website for over three years.

AS/400 Consultant using RPG/IV with ILE Free Form with BPCS Manufacturing. April/May of 2007 in Easton, PA with CCMA.
This was an emergency and short term request to help the development team reach project target dates after several Programmers left unexpectedly. The project was mainly in Free Form RPG/IV and was designed to enhance Web Orders on a modified BPCS database.

AS/400 Database Administrator (Consultant) in Philadelphia, PA. January/February of 2007. I finished before the estimated time.
I analyzed the best AS/400 to PC data conversion method to archive/retrieve historical AS/400 data for legal retention. They had ASNA tools which I ended up using as well as some DB2, IFS, and RPG/IV with ILE.

AS/400 Consultant using RPG/III and RPG/IV with ILE, including Free. August thru December of 2006 for BP in Baltimore, MD.
I modified several JDE Programs, in-house interface programs and I created modern RPG/IV with ILE programs in Free Form to Interface data from Order Entry and to Billing for a third party vendor. I created three drill down Sub-File programs in Free to allow the users to analyze XML interface data sent from the third party vendor. A lot of the project time was spent analyzing data with DB2 SQL and Query/400 verifies data extraction and transfer.

AS/400 Consultant using RPG/IV with ILE, including Free Form RPG. From May to August of 2006 for HBS in Lancaster, PA.
I created modern RPG/IV with ILE programs, including many Free Form RPG programs, Sub-File programs, embedded SQL (DB2), Interactive programs with windows and ILE batch programs that all used prototyped calls to access other ILE programs and procedures. The project was designed to interface an in-house Insurance Claims Application to a McKesson Claims Check Processing application via keyed Data Queues.

AS/400 Consultant using RPG/IV with ILE, Embedded SQL, ISQL, RPG/II, OCL and CL during 2005/2006 with One Source, Inc.
I converting many programs (System/36 RPG/II, OCL, RPG/III, and 36 files in QS36F) to modern RPG/IV with ILE programs in a Retail Distribution Environment. I created several embedded SQL programs to replace the G-Sort functions in several programs.
AS/400 Consultant using RPG (III/IV/SQL/ILE) for two short-term contracts during 2003 with Cue Data and in 2004 with EDS. Both assignments were in the Philadelphia area and were with BPCS 6.00.4 in Manufacturing Environments.
I worked on several applications including G/L, A/P, A/R, Order Entry, Customer Service, Shop Floor, Physical Inventory, Freight, Purchase Orders, and several interfaces. I was able to work around and recreate programs with missing source, salvaging Physical Inventory (Cue).
Lear Corporation - Newark, DE - 2001 to 2002 – Plant IT Manager - P/A and Operations in Manufacturing. Full-Time Permanent.
I was responsible for programming in RPG/IV with ILE and RPG/III. I served as the AS/400 expert, as a backup NT Network Administrator, as a backup PC Troubleshooter and as a backup AS/400 Operator. I designed, implemented, analyzed and maintained manufacturing applications for the plant including specialized Bar-coding, Financial Applications, Shop Floor, Time Tracking, Inventory and Material Management. I managed one Computer Operator and reported to the Corporate IT Management in Michigan and to the Plant Manager.
Certainteed Corporation - Valley Forge, PA - February 2000 to October 2000. Full-Time Permanent
Senior Programmer/Analyst in RPG/III on BPCS in a Manufacturing Environment.
I was responsible for maintaining BPCS applications including Shop Floor, Sales, G/L, A/R and Order Entry. A new director was hired to move the data off the AS/400. I was exposed to DB2 Triggers and used embedded SQL (DB2).
Commonwealth Relocation Services - Philadelphia and Devon, PA (1998 to 1999)
Senior AS/400 P/A using RPG/ILE, RPG/IV, COBOL/38, and COBOL/400. Mortgage and Relocation Applications.

I Maintained COBOL applications and converted COBOL/38 applications to COBOL/400 after making them Y2K compliant. I later created RPG/IV programs to replace the COBOL programs in applications including G/L, A/P, A/R, and the Utility Library. I accomplished the original task in less than half the estimated time (with great accuracy) so CRS extended the assignment for the RPG/IV project.

I.C.C.G. - Southampton, PA (1998) Senior AS/400 Consultant (P/A) - RPG/III and ASSET.
I customized and converted applications using RPG/III and ASSET for clients that were installing or upgrading to Y2K compliant BPCS. I was recruited by I.C.C.G. to help reduce the priority backlog generated by Y2K after working at Hoeganaes with I.C.C.G. Programmers.
Hoeganaes - Riverton, NJ in 1996/97. AS/400 Consultant (Programmer/Analyst) - RPG/III and a little ASSET.
Implemented a new BPCS (6.2) Manufacturing application and a Kronos Time Tracking application. Converted the data from an HP3000 using COBOL flat files via FTP. I trained the I.T. staff at the Plant in RPG/III, CL, and how to operate the AS/400. I created twenty-six bi-directional interfaces that passed data to and from the AS/400 and the HP3000.
Kirky & Associates - Maitland, FL (1996). Senior AS/400 Consultant (P/A) - RPG/III and RPG/II.
I worked on Agricultural Applications including Order Entry, Sales, Shipping, Receiving and Load Distribution for clients all over the world. I was proud to be assigned to the key account (Sunkist) soon after I started.
Senior Consultant (Programmer/Analyst) - RPG/III and CL for a Sports Equipment Retailer if South Florida in 1996.
This client was expanding its retail business to Canada and Japan and they needed to ensure that the new retail applications were completed on time. They brought me in for the last three months of the development phase of the project and I converted the Fax Applications, assisted with the Retail and Financial Application modifications and created an In-Transit shipping module for the Japanese Application.
Volusia County Clerk - DeLand, FL. (1992 to 1996) Court, Financial and Government Applications.
IT Manager and later Senior Consultant (Programmer/Analyst) in RPG (III/II/SQL), CL and some System/36 mode OCL. I took DB2 and DRDA at IBM because we used heavy SQL.
After being the IT Manager at the Clerk’s Office for almost two years, I was hired as a Consultant to maintain and convert all the Clerk AS/400 applications to INFORMIX as part of a statewide project. I was honored for having the best Child Support Application conversion in the State out of sixty-nine County Clerks. I received contract extensions several times because I had to maintain the AS/400 applications while Clerk applications were being developed in INFORMIX by the Florida Association of Court Clerks (FACC). I created SQL application interfaces with remote SQL selects that replaced several tape interfaces with County IT. I helped to convert the Records Application as well.
H.T.E. - Orlando, Florida (1992) Senior Consultant in RPG/III and RPG/II
I was assigned to the Payroll Team and specialized in SUI & State Retirement. I was also hired to evaluate the Chiefs Police Application that I worked on at OPD before H.T.E. purchased it in 1993. I was recruited by HTE a second time in 1993 to lead the new Public Safety Department (Police, Fire and Rescue) but I had commitments as the IT Manager at the Volusia County Clerk’s Office and could not accept.
Computer Solutions - (1989 to 1992) – Consulting in RPG/III & AS/400 Operations. International Banking and AS/400 Education.
I designed AS/400 Educational Software for clients in East Africa including Ethiopia, Kenya, and Uganda. In 1991, I traveled to Kampala Uganda to work at the Central Bank where the assignment was to teach the Programmers and Operators how to use the AS/400. In 1992, I started development on a Fraud Detection Application on my AS/400 but World Bank money was not granted and the project was dropped.
Orlando Police Department (City of Orlando) - (1989 to 1991) Law Enforcement and Government.
Consulting as a Senior Programmer/Analyst - RPG/III, RPG/II, and COBOL. AS/400, System/38, and System/36.
I primarily worked on the Police Records Application but I did a little G/L, Fleet Maintenance, Dispatch, Parking, Payroll, Fire and Geobase application work as well. I lead a major project to create an interim Police Records Application. I created a major Police Records interface tape to F.D.L.E. that had the lowest error rate ever submitted by an Agency as of 1990. I was later contracted to assist in a conversion to the New World Police Records System (NWS). I was hired for a third time after the yearlong contract expired to help maintain NWS.
Abington Memorial Hospital (AMH) - Abington, PA - March 1983 to July 1988. A Full-Time Permanent Position.
Programmer/Analyst in RPG/III on the System/38 in a Healthcare Environment.
My primary duty was to design, implement, and maintain medical applications including implementing Lawson Financials and Global Payroll. I created an Operating Room Application with the Chief of Surgery. I started as a weekend Computer Operator while working full-time at ARC and advanced to Assistant Director of MIS. I was primarily an RPG/III P/A on a System/38 and an Operations expert.
Applications Research Corporation (ARC) - Warminster, PA - March 1981 to August 1983 A Full-Time Permanent Position.

Computer Operator and Computer Operations Shift Supervisor in a Navy P3 Environment.
My primary duty was to operate and supervise several computer systems for the Naval P3 Submarine Warfare section.
