Dear Members,
For those of you that missed out, we had a great fish and chip run with a difference commencing at 1:00 pm at the Krispy Kreme donut place at Waterloo corner last Friday.
We were delighted that we all got a free donut before we left on our travels via Balaklava for a short stretch, then on to Wallaroo. All went very smoothly despite some rougher bitumen past Port Wakefield.
After checking into our luxurious rooms at the Wallaroo Marina Apartments we agreed to meet a short time later in Kari and Chris Soutters’ room. We nibbled, sipped and chatted in their room overlooking the marina and beach until the "walking bus" departed at 6.30pm for the Pier One Restaurant. It was a lovely balmy evening and as we walked along we admired boats, jetties, the tide and generally how good life was!

On arrival at Pier One, we met up with other members who had chosen to stay elsewhere and we were all shown to a large tent/room overlooking the sea and were able to watch the sun go down as we ate our very generous serves of fish and chips and salad. This was followed by ice creams outside in the fresh air overlooking the main jetty.
Each year at the Fish and Chips run, we collect for a different organisation. A collection of $140 was collected this weekend to go towards prostate cancer research. Thank you everyone.
We caught the "walking bus" back again to the Wallaroo Marina Apartments where some continued on to the wee hours before falling into very comfortable beds.
Next morning, most of us left at 8.30am to travel the short distance to Moonta where Kym and Rose Boxall, locals of Moonta, had very kindly arranged for us to have a cooked breakfast at the Copper Coast Lifestyle Village. The Village Social Club provided us with a beautiful cooked breakfast and those that were interested were shown around the village. Wow - huge swimming pool complete with spa, a bowling green and lovely modern facilities and housing. Thank you to Kym and Rose for organizing the breakfast.
Oh and by the way, "happy birthday" Hans and also to Bronwyn Lewis (who missed out on birthday cake)! Hanssays he is only 56 (65)! Hope it was a great one to both of you!
