Opening:

The regular meeting of the Douglas County Republican Central Committee was called to order at 7:03 p.m. on July 16, 2014 atthe Tuscola Senior Center, Tuscola, IL by GaryAppleby, Vice Chairman, with the Pledge of Allegiance.

A.Old Business

No Old Business was discussed.

B.Current Business

Secretary, Laura Henry read the minutes from the June 16 Republican Central Committee meeting. Gary Appleby made a motion to accept the Secretary’s Report as read. Rick Weger seconded the motion. The motion to accept the Secretaries report as read passed unanimously.

Treasurer, Danny Cleland gave the Treasurer’s Report. He reported a balance of $4,750.27. Pete Buckley donated $1,000.00 from his campaign to the Douglas County Republican Central Committee.

Parades were discussed as follows:

August 2 - Ag Days in Villa Grove parade line up between 8-8:30 a.m. for a 9 a.m. parade.

August 16 – Apple Dumpling Festival in Atwood. Parade line up at 12:30 p.m. on Magnolia St in front of the High School for a 2:00 p.m. parade.

*The following parade information was not discussed but I’m leaving in the minutes for reference:

*August 30-31 is Arthur’s Cheese Festival. More information will be announced at a later date.

*September 6 is Arcola’s Broom Corn Parade. More information will be announced at a later date. Julie Mills will reserve 2-3 spots for the Douglas County Republicans.

Annual Trap Shoot – August 23rd at 9:00 a.m. Lunch will be provided by Scott Harris. We will only be giving away 1 gun this year. Gary Appleby will notify us of the type of gun when information is available.

Laura Henry will be making the flyers and raffle tickets. Ticket price discussed was 1 for $10 or 3 for $20. Members will be given raffle tickets ahead of time.

B. Next Meeting

The next meeting of the Republican Central Committee will be determined at a later date. Members will be notified. Location will be at the Tuscola Senior Center.

Adjournment:

Rick Weger made a motion to dismiss the meeting. Gary Appleby seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 7:24 p.m.
