Updates:

·  Strodes Creek – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and their contractor conducted a field visit of the restoration area. The contractor will begin field measurements to complete a restoration design.

·  Triplett Creek Group – The WSC Focused Watershed subcommittee selected Dry Creek as a HUC 14 with pathogen and/or nutrient impairment in a Source Water Protection Area. However, there were concerns expressed by the WSC regarding whether or not Dry Creek met the Source Water Protection criterion. Discussion will continue at the next WSC meeting.

·  Gunpowder Creek Group – So. Fk. Gunpowder Creek was a potential candidate as a focused watershed selection by the WSC subcommittee, but it didn’t rank out as a top five priority across the state.

·  Basin Status Report – topic of today’s meeting

Discussion:

·  There was discussion of the original priority list developed by the Licking River Basin Team. Jon Walker will try to find a copy of the original list. If anyone else has this, please forward it to Lajuanda.

·  The DOW Watershed Management Branch maintains a potential project list for each basin that can be used if funding is identified and must be appropriated quickly. There is only one Licking River Basin project on this list – Upper Hinkston Creek – watershed project. We need to develop a list of potential projects for this basin to be added to the list. The categories on the list are: Project Name; Basin; Waterbody Name; HUC number; County; Potential Project Lead Name; Potential Lead Project Organization; Project Objective; Estimated Cost; Secured Funding; 303d Status; TMDL Status; Watershed Based Plan Status; Time Frame for Project; Political Sensitivity; Strength/Reliability of Partners; Time Frame for Funding; Possible Vendor/Contractor. This is the type of information we will need for each project we propose to add to the list. What is the best way for us to accomplish putting together this list? Brainstorming by email was suggested.

·  I have created a spreadsheet of the counties in the Licking River Basin and some of the programs, agencies, and legislators that cover each county. I am attaching this electronically for your use. If any mistakes are identified, please let me know so that I can correct them.

·  We discussed the revisions and task assignments for continuing the update of the Basin Status Report. The following topics were discussed and/or reviewed:
