(Fort Lauderdale, FL November 30, 2007) - In an effort to reach even more students, Take Stock in Children has launched a tremendous campaign to help maximize funds and to incite new local sponsors to donate. Contributions of $5,000 or $10,000 will be matched six times by combining both public and private matching sources.
Randy and Kim Sweers of FASTBOATS.COM were the first to kick-off Take Stock's TurboCharge campaign with a $5,000 donation in memory of the late Tom Newby, chief photographer for Powerboat Magazine, who was tragically killed in a photo shoot on September 11th 2007. "Tom produced award winning photos of our boats as well as many others. He was the best in the business and we are deeply saddened by his loss." The TurboCharge campaign will multiply the FASTBOATS.COM / Tom Newby Scholarship Fund to $30,000 - the equivalent of three college tuition scholarships!

"FASTBOATS.COM was honored to be the first to step-up to the TurboCharge challenge and to support a leading organization committed to serving Broward County's students in-need," said Sweers. "It is amazing to think that our donation will go so far as to send three students to college in Newby's memory. These students might not otherwise have the chance to do so, especially with the rising cost of education. We hope others will follow our lead in this amazing opportunity to give back to the community and keep Tom Newby's legacy alive."

Potential donors should contact Randee Reed, Director of Development, to participate in the TurboCharge Challenge. Randee can be reached at (954) 769-2931 or .
