SUNSET+VINE TV NEWS AWARDED AMERICA’S CUP TV NEWS CONTRACT

LONDON-BASED NEWS AGENCY APPOINTED FOR PRODUCTION AND INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION OF NEWS FOR THE LOUIS VUITTON AMERICA’S CUP WORLD SERIES FUKUOKA AND THE 35TH AMERICA’S CUP IN BERMUDA, 2017

(BERMUDA) Sunset+Vine TV News, a business unit of Sunset+Vine, the multi-award winning UK independent TV sports production and media company, part of The Tinopolis Group, has confirmed that it has been awarded the TV News Production and Distribution contract for the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series Fukuoka and the 35th America’s Cup, taking place in Bermuda 2017. The contract, managed by a team with extensive international and specific sailing industry experience, will be led by Sabina MollartRogerson, Head of News.

Sunset+Vine TV News has territory and language distribution managers in all of the America’s Cup key markets including North America, the UK, Japan, France, Scandinavia, Germany, Australasia, South America, China, Spain and Italy. As part of the deliverables, the team will be on the ground Fukuoka, Japan, between 17-20 November 2016, delivering the news production and distribution service for the final event of the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series.

First contested in 1851, the America’s Cup is the oldest trophy in international sport, predating the modern Olympic Games by 45 years, and is yachting’s biggest prize. The blue ribbon event will be hosted in Bermuda during May and June 2017.

Sunset+Vine has a long established pedigree in the sport of sailing and has enjoyed considerable success during 2016. It produced the Rio 2016 sailing coverage for the BBC; provided live host broadcast coverage and international news at the three ISAF 2016 Sailing World Cup regattas (creating a 52 minutes highlights show for each event in addition to news distribution); was commissioned to produce the ISAF’s monthly 26-minute programme series, The World Sailing Showas well as being re-commissioned by CNN to produce the long-running Mainsail series. Throughout 2016, Sunset+Vine continued its role as host broadcaster and programme series producer for the Extreme Sailing Series.
