About UBTIC
Uzbek-British Trade and Industry Council (UBTIC) is a trade promotion body, which supports and assists UK businesses who are interested in or already operating or investing in Uzbekistan. It is supported by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for the UK side and the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments & Trade (MFERIT) of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the Uzbek side.
UBTIC was established under a bilateral agreement between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Uzbekistan in 1994, with the aim to develop closer business links between the two countries.
UBTIC has approximately 130 members – British companies and organisations, 437 companies with British capital are operating in diverse sectors of Uzbek economy, and more than 110 companies with 100% British capital were registered in Uzbekistan.
The UBTIC and its meetings provides an invaluable opportunity for companies to learn about market opportunities, economic developments and government plans, to meet ministers and officials, and to learn from each others’ progress and experience. UBTIC meets annually, in alternate capitals – in Tashkent and London.
The Council is run by two co-chairs appointed by the governments of both countries.

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OF UZBEKISTAN
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan (CCIU) plays crucial role in Uzbekistan in strengthening the position of the private sector. One of the main tasks assigned to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan is to actively assist entrepreneurs in creating new industries, expansion of business contacts, promotion of domestic products to foreign markets, attract foreign direct. CCIU brings together 25,000 entrepreneurs in small business and large companies, leasing companies, banking and insurance institutions. With divisions in all regions of the country, CCI effectively cooperates with public authorities and administration that promotes steady growth in business confidence and strengthen the partnership between the organization and the state.
Important direction of the CCIU activity is helping businesses in finding and purchasing mini-technologies and equipment. For this purpose they’ve organized dozens of business trips abroad for domestic entrepreneurs, provided their participation in international trade fairs and business meetings, as well as exhibitions in the country.
