Meeting Minutes
I. CALL TO ORDER
a. Prayer – Meeting was opened with prayer by Maj Taylor.
b. Opening Remarks were made by President, Maj Everly. He asked for introductions of current members and perspective members. He welcomed all to include our special guest CAPT Sinclair M.Harris the Eastern Vice President. The Eastern Vice President spoke of his association with NNOA and his appreciation for Marines.
II. REVIEW
a. Meeting Minutes of 12 December 2007 were reviewed and approved by general body.
b. Robert Rules of Order Presentation (Summary) – Maj Stacey Taylor, brief the Body on
“Robert Rules of Order’. He reminded us that the Robert Rules of Order help us keep
courteous to each other in a group setting. He also provided our President with a handout of
key points in which he elaborated on for the rest of his brief.
III. EXECUTIVE BOARD REPORTS
a. Treasurer Report – LtCol Pitts was TAD. Report was sent out via e-mail. Beginning balance in Expense Account, $3,176.90, deposits $50.00, expenses $100.00 for Adopt-A-Family, $70.00 for Post Office Box fee, anticipated expenses $151.34, ending balance in Expense Account is $3,056.90. Beginning balance in Scholarship Account $6,053.16, no expenses and no deposits, ending balance in Scholarship Account is $6,053.16.
b. Membership/Webmaster – Capt Melissa Chestnut explained to the Body the Membership Point System/Challenge and provided the group with the current ranking of the Members was is in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. She also shared with the group why she is in NNOA and what the organization has contributed to her professional and personal fulfillment.
c. Public Affairs –No Report
d. Scholarship/Dollars For Scholars – Scholarship amounts will be ten (10) $1,000.00 need base and two (2) $500.00 need base.
e. Chaplain – No Report
f. Historian – No Report
g. Fundraising/Social – Maj Everly thanked all who came out and participated in the Holiday Social Event. The food and camaraderie was great.
h. PME Coordinator – Nothing additional to provide
i. Secretary – No Report
j. Vice President – No Report

IV. OLD BUSINESS
a. Audit Report – Treasurer – LtCol Pitts is TAD and will provide the EB with an update when he returns.
b. Adopt-A-Family for Christmas/Holidays Report – LTC Elmore reported that the Quantico
Chapter NNOA donated over $800.00 in gifts and cash for the Adopt-A-Family
V. NEW BUSINESS
a. Ticket & Ad Booklet Sales for the Scholarship Banquet, begins 09 January, 2008 – Scholarship Committee. Tickets will be $40.00 for a sit down meal. We are looking to sell at least 150 tickets. Tickets were passed out to all members that were presented.
b. Adopt-A-School Visit – Friday, 11 January, 2008, Mary Williams Elementary School, Dumfries, VA – Maj Taylor asked for more participation from membership. He reminder us that we have taken on this mission and we must accomplish it goals. The Elementary School is planning and depending on us.
VI. PME PRESENTATION – Introduced by Maj Walls– Guest Speaker LtCol (Col Sel) Mary Reinwald, Command Selection Boards, subject of PME “Command Screening Program”.
