1.  REFORMS:

1.  Enactment of Jharkhand State Higher Education Council Act, 2016.

2.  Establishment of Jharkhand Raksha Shakti University at Ranchi by Act (Third Raksha Shakti University of India) in record time and academic session has started since 2016-2017.

3.  Establishment of three Private Universities in Jharkhand viz. Amity University, Pragyan University and AISECT University by Act.

4.  Merging of Skill Development Department into Higher and Technical Education Department.

5.  Establishment of New Model College in 12 Educationally Backward Districts (EBDs) viz. Garhwa, Koderma, Chatra, Pakur, Palamu, Saraikela-Kharsawan, Gumla, Giridih, Deoghar, Godda, Dumka and Sahebganj is proposed. Academic session is to be started in Godda and Giridih from next session 2017-18.

6.  Second shift classes have been started since last academic session. Total of 13,294 enrollments have been done in five State Universities so far. In Financial Year 2015- 16, an amount of Rupees 10 Crores (Ten Crores) has been released for second shift classes in State Universities of Jharkhand (Rs 3 Crores to Ranchi University,Ranchi; Rs 3 Crores to Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag; Rs 2 Crores to Sido Kanu Murmu University,Dumka; Rs 1 Crores each to Kolhan University, Chaibasa and Nilamber Pitamber University, Palamu)

7.  NAAC Accreditation has been made mandatory for every HEIs for permanent affiliation and government grants as guided by UGC.

8.  Women Colleges has been started in 11 such districts where there is no Constituent and Affiliated Colleges.

9.  For filling up of vacant posts of Registrar, Finance Officer, Deputy Registrar, Asst.

Registrar, Principals, Professors, University Professors and Associate Professors JPSC had published advertisement after the roster clearance (roster clearance has been done for the first time in the history of Jharkhand and undivided Bihar).

Vacant posts has been identified after roster clearance, rationalization is in final stage, amendment in University Act is under consideration of Cabinet, Govt. of Jharkhand for the appointment of Assistant Professors by Jharkhand Public Service Commission, Jharkhand.

10.  10 New Polytechnic Colleges to become functional in the current academic session under PPP mode.

11.  For setting up of three Centre of Excellence (CoEs) and 15 Technical Skill Development Institutes, MoUs has been signed with Siemens Software (India) Pvt. Ltd. to provide Skill based training in selected technical institute.

12.  MoUs have been signed with Cisco, Oracle, Tata Steel for imparting IT based Skill Development courses in Technical institutions.

13.  Constructions of Two Modern Planetarium at Ranchi and Dumka is under process.

14.  State Level Quality Assurance Cell (SLQAC) has been established to ensure quality in education.

State has conducted a State Level SLQAC Conference on 20 December 2016 with successful participation of three State Universities and Technical Universities for the first time.

Next such Conference is scheduled in second week of February’2017 at Dhanbad (with participation of other left Universities).

15.  State is committed to upload 100% data in AISHE, Portal. A workshop in this regard is proposed in second week of February’ 2017 for the same.

Topic of Workshop is “Ways to achieve 100% AISHE Data of Jharkhand: A Brainstorming session”
