SUBJECT: Clarifications to SOPs in Chapter 7E – CPS Out-of-Home Care (OOHC)
The purpose of this memorandum is to notify staff that:
- SOP 7E.1.9 – Level of Care Assignmenthas been revised to clarify an exception for childrenthat have anassigned Level of Care of one (1) or two (2) from being placed in a DCBS Resource Homein order to maintain the child(ren) in closest proximity to the family’s home;
- SOP 7E.3.4 – Ongoing Contact with the Child has been revised to clarify that the Social Service Worker (SSW) or other Cabinet staff has private, face-to-face contact with all children in OOHC monthly (every thirty (30) calendar days), including Supports for Community Living (SCL) programs;
- SOP 7E.3.15 – Critical Situations has been revised to clarify that a Private Child Care (PCC) or Private Child Placing (PCP) agency director, or designee, no longer submits a comprehensive written report regarding a critical situation to the Contracts Branch Manager, however they continue to submit a comprehensive written report regarding a critical situation to the SSW; and
- An Educational Passport form has been added to the forms section of the DPP online manuals website, as well as, a link from SOP 7E.5.3 – Educational Passport to the form. This form is for the purpose of enrolling the student in school and is to be completed by the school/facility from which the student is leaving.
