3  Project Approach

3.1  Standards

Standards provided in the EPD documents are used in the project.

3.1.1  Processes

Processes mentioned in the EPD are used for this project.

3.1.2  Development Lifecycle

The project will be executed with the following sequence of activities:

1.  PBI Tech Central team will provide the Functional Specifications for change request to be developed.

2.  Wipro project team will use this FS as input to create the Technical Solution document for the identified components.

3.  Technical Solution documents will be reviewed and approved by PBI as per the project schedule planned.

4.  Wipro project team will begin with build and unit test for the components after the approval for Technical Solution from PBI.

5.  Wipro project team will complete the Unit testing of components before it is released as first Iteration to PBI Tech Central team for testing and validation.

6.  PBI Tech Central team will report any defects identified in the delivered components.

7.  Wipro project team will fix or implement the defects reported by PBI.

8.  The completed components will be integrated and tested during Integration Testing phase of the project.

9.  Business users will test and validate the expected functionality from the developed components during the User Acceptance Testing phase.

10.  The developed and tested code will be migrated to Production.

Guideline:

·  Fatal errors – Defects which stops the system function and user is not able to proceed

·  Major errors – Defects which are critical to the functionality of the system

·  Minor errors – Defects which are cosmetic in nature and does not affect the business functionality (within the domain of the functionality)

During the project execution phase, it is expected that some of the requirements may under go changes. However, at the start of the every feature, the requirements will be base-lined and changes to these will be analysed to identify the impact on schedule and cost. Based on the agreement between Wipro and PBI, the approved changes will be incorporated into project schedule. The above cycle of activities will be repeated to include the revised requirements as applicable.

Release Management

Deliverables are released to PBI for review as planned. After incorporating the PBI review comments if any and will be released to PBI for final sign off.

Reporting

Wipro will provide Weekly Status Reports to the PBI Director/Project Manager that will include key tasks performed during the week, key tasks that are planned for next week, issues and risks if any.
