The meeting was called to order by Marc Fetterman, Vice Chair, at 11:36 a.m. with a roll call of members and other persons present.

The Board unanimously approved the Notice of Emergency and Proposed Rulemaking for the 2013 12 DCMR Building Code Supplement, concerning vertical and lateral flame spread propagation, upon motion made by Armando Lourenco and seconded by Dave Epley. The Notice incorporates code change proposals BC-CCCB-14-1-14 (approved today), BC-CCCB-26-1-14 (revised and approved today), and BC-CCCB-1-9-14 (approved today)..

The Board unanimously approved the Notice of Emergency and Proposed Rulemaking for the 2013 12 DCMR Building, Fire and Property Maintenance Code Supplements, concerning carbon monoxide detectors, upon motion made by Armando Lourenco and seconded by Tony Falwell. The Board agreed to give DCRA flexibility to revise the proposed effective date contained in Property Maintenance Code Section 310.1. This Notice incorporates previously approved code change proposals BC-CCCB-9-1-14, FC-CCCB-9-1-14 and PMC-CCCB-3-1-14.

To avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest, Armando Lourenco did not participate in the consideration of BC-CCCB-Appendix.N-1-16.

Jim Schulman of the Sierra Club participated in a discussion of RC-R-3-3-16.

Upon motion was made by Dave Epley and seconded by Armando Lourenco, the Board unanimously agreed to schedule regular meetings of the CCCB, from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM in DCRA conference room E4302, on the following dates:

September 14, 2017 (replaces September 21, 2017 meeting date)

October 19, 2017

November 16, 2017

December 21, 2017

January 18, 2018
