Job Title: HVAC Manager/ Senior HVAC Engineer, Estate Office

Contract Status: Full-time

Salary: Level 4 on Local Admin Pay Scale

Responsible to: Engineering Manager

Job Outline:

Be responsible for UNNC mechanical and HVAC system establishment and operation work, including but not limit to design review, RFP preparation, construction site management, daily operation, repair and maintenance and etc.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide plan reviews of mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, sprinkler, and exhaust systems in research laboratories, office buildings, academic buildings, sports center and related structures in UNNC; address the deficiency, propose the corresponding solutions and manage the implementation process.
  • Make designs and prepare specifications for mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, sprinkler, and exhaust systems modification;
  • Review drawings, cost estimates, design analyses, plans and specifications submitted by consultants/contractors to ensure compliance with standards and applicable UNNC, local and national regulations.
  • Inspects the mechanical systems on construction projects via site inspections. Tests mechanical systems equipment in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Makes calculations and sizes equipment taking into consideration the facility's needs. Review specifications, architectural plans, and building codes to gather supplementary data on which to base designs and coordinates with architects and structural and electrical engineers to avoid interferences and ensure proper integration of system.
  • Prepare the maintenance schedule for all mechanical system equipment in campus and to ensure it go implemented. Organize and manage repair and troubleshooting for all mechanical system equipment. Actively promotes and seeks to increase energy efficiency and sustainability for campus facilities.
  • Understand BMS, DDC and PLC and have the capability to lead relevant project.
  • Conducts energy conservation investigations and initiates follow up projects.
  • Keep the Estates and others informed about work status of issues that may impact critical UNNC operations or strategy
  • Coordinates with internal and external customers to perform regulatory reviews.
  • Participate in training and staff development schemes as trainer or trainee as appropriate;
  • Maintain appropriate professional development, expertise and awareness;
  • Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required.

Person Specification:

Essential / Desirable
Qualifications/ Education /
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent from HVAC, Mechanical, Plumbing engineering and etc. (暖通相关专业毕业)

  • Master Degree is preferred

Skills/Training /
  • Experience on Mechanical engineering or Mechanical system experience
  • Ability to prepare specifications and budget for building work
  • Working knowledge of building contracts.
  • Production of drawings using Auto CAD
  • Conversant with Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to communicate in English.
  • High attention to detail and excellent follow-up and organizational skills

Experience /
  • Delivery of projects within budget, in timescale to the satisfaction of all parties, both internal and external
  • Understanding of relevant Health & Safety Regulations and policies.
  • At least 5 years working experience in Mechanical engineering, construction project management

  • Experience working in Sino-Foreign University or MNC is preferred
