ZONING PERMIT APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
The Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Phillipsburg requires that any person, corporation or agent thereof must FIRST apply for a zoning permit PRIOR to construction, moving, altering or changing the use of any building (structure) or use any land.
For example if you are applying for a: deck; porch; swimming pool, fence; addition to an existing building; construct a new building; create off street parking; erect a sign on the ground or attached to a building; you will be required to file an application for a zoning permit.
There is a $25.00 non-refundable fee payable when the application is submitted . If the fee is not received, the Zoning Officer will not look at the permit.
WE ASK YOU FOR A COPY OF YOUR SURVEY. On that COPY please indicate where you will be constructing or erecting, (location), any of the above. You will also need to indicate all dimensions; in some cases how far from your home and/or property lines, your project will be. YOU NEED TO BE VERY SPECIFIC WE CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. If you do not provide enough information, your application will be denied based on lack of information, which will delay your project.
In some cases, you will be required to also file for a construction permit.
