APPLICATION FOR SPECIALIZATION COURSE IN «INSTRUMENT»
Important
- Before you apply, you must contact your chosen teacher to make sure they still have available teaching slots.
- We advise applicants to arrange an audition with their chosen teacher (free of charge) before the entrance test.
- Applicants whose audition programme requires piano accompaniment (or harpsichord for Baroque performance) must get in touch with the accompanist before the entrance test.
- Students must have sufficient command of the French language (spoken, as well as written for some subjects). If the student is admitted and the jury deems their French proficiency insufficient, the student will need to improve their French.
- Simultaneous attendance of two different conservatoires in the same subject is not allowed.
Application form
The enclosed application form must be sent byAugust 18th, 2017 or December 31st, 2017 :
• either via email to (Re: Entrance test) ;
• or by post to the address printed below;
• or by handing it in at the Conservatoire.
Together with the completed application form, please enclose :
- a cheque of 40 € in payment of entrance test application fee. Check payable to: Régie du Conservatoire de Strasbourg. This application fee is non-refundable, even in case of no-show.
- certificates and/or copies of diplomas obtained for completed music studies (translated into French).
- certificates and/or copies of diplomas for higher education (translated into French). Applicants must have completed a DEM music degree or equivalent foreign diploma,
- a covering letter in French.,
- the audition programme for the entrance test (references of pieces performed).
Rules for admission
- October 2th-6th, 2017, for applicants having registered before August 18th, 2017,
- the first two weeks of February, for applicants having registered between August 19th and December 31st, 2017.
Individual test times will be sent to applicants by email.
Entrance test, subject to available places:
1. an audition of around 15 minutes (repertoire freely chosen by applicant)
2. an interview with the jury.
Applicants must provide a copy of their sheet music for the jury.
For any additional query concerning teaching, please make an appointment with the Conservatoire's studies department.
Before applying for the entrance test, non-EU applicants must ensure they comply with French immigration law (e.g. obtaining a study visa, among other things).

- Any late or incomplete application will not be considered and will be returned.
- No acknowledgement of receipt will be given.

· A short rehearsal will be scheduled in the days prior to the entrance test. You will be notified of your rehearsal slot in your official invitation letter.
