Reporting to: / Head of Appeal
Salary Range: / c.£20k – £24k pa including London weighting

Coram is the UK’s first children’s charity. Since 1739 we have helped some of the UK’s most vulnerable children to have better chances in life.

We have a big reputation in our field. Coram runs the UK’s most successful charity adoption project, the UK’s largest children’s health education programme, and at least five of our projects are the first, the biggest or the best in the country. 90% of our income is spent on our charitable purposes – well above average for our sector.

Coram has trebled in size in only three years to support directly over 40,000 children and families this year and a further 800,000 children through our delivery partners nationwide. With some 200 staff, we are based on our leafy 3.5 acre campus near King’s Cross.

Now is an exciting time for Coram as we embark on a £15.2 million capital appeal to develop a National Centre of Excellence, on our historic site, to change the health and life prospects of a generation of children. The development will double the utilisation of our site, helping us to expand our services and creating additional space to host other children’s charities on site and extend the impact of our work across the UK. The appeal is led by a strong board chaired by Patrick Fauchier, founder of Fauchier Partners.

We are now seeking a talented individual to join the Appeal team and make this new centre a reality. Reporting to the Head of Appeal, the post holder will provide dedicated support for all appeal activities and ensure we remain on track to deliver the appeal.

  • To support the Head of Appeal and Development Manager in delivering the stewardship and communication plan for appeal supporters
  • To create and manage project plans, prospect tracking lists, reports and updates for the Appeal Board and Appeal Chair
  • To work with the Head of Appeal to develop and deliver systems that ensure that all financial records are accurate, donations are processed and all donors are thanked in a timely fashion
  • To provide administrative support to the Head of Appeal and other members of the team as necessary including all prospect and senior volunteer meetings
  • To manage specific projects that deliver a net contribution to the Appeal, as agreed with the Head of Appeal
