Re: Decision Hearing on changes and amendments to Arthur Santoro Cambridge Taxicab School curriculum- JANUARY 20, 2010 11:00 AM, 831 MASS AVE. BASEMENT CONFERENCE ROOM.

The License Commission will hold a decision hearing on Wednesday, January 20th at 11:00 am, 831 Mass. Ave. basement conference room, with regard the decision on the proposed changes and amendments to the school curriculum of the Arthur Santoro Taxicab School. This letter is being sent to all interested parties, the subcommittee, the school board and is advertised in the Chronicle.

The following subject matters that were introduced at the hearing on December 16th will be discussed:

1)  Length of the school- adding a fourth night or more

2)  Location of classes-proposed move to new Police station

3)  Addition of Defensive Driving section- included in school section or requiring it be a separate class

4)  Changes or addition of new teachers including police officers

5)  Inclusion of audio visuals, taped classes

6)  Annual meeting of all owners, lessors and managers on

responsibilities and duties

7)  Geography section- How best to present

8)  Date of re-opening of the school

Any other issues which are relevant to the school and curriculum will also be discussed as needed at this meeting.

In addition, a current School board member who was re-elected in November, has decided to resign. A run-off election will take place at the school’s next quarterly meeting on January 26, 2010, 10:00 am, at Inn at Harvard, 1201 Mass. Ave. Those that were on the original ballot, who still wish to be considered, will be placed on another ballot for election that day.
