APPENDIX 1

to Payment card issuance

and service agreement

  1. General Provisions

Bank means Ameriabank CJSC.

Card means cards of MasterCard and VISA international payment systems, cards of ArCa local payment system.The card is the property of the Bank. Please return it to the Bank within 5 days upon termination or expiry of the Agreement.

Card account means an account opened with the Bank, to which funds may be credited or debited depending on the use of the Card.

Additional card means an extra card the transactions with which are linked to the principal card account. The transaction limits of the additional card are defined by the holder of the principal Card.

Cardholder means a person having the right to use the Card on the basis of an Agreement executed with the Bank.

PIN means personal identification number.

Password means the Cardholder's individual password required for obtaining card-related information by phone, contacting ArCa Processing Center or creation of a virtual card by the Cardholder.

Agreement means an agreement on Card service for corporate or individual use.

Minimum balance means the minimum amount specified by the Bank tariffs. Minimum balance can only be debited for payment of the Bank’s commissions in case the funds available on Card account are insufficient.

Cash withdrawal limit means the total allowable value or number of daily cash withdrawal transactions.

Card transactions means transactions where the Card is used for payment for goods and services or for cash withdrawal.

Transaction date means the actual day of Card transaction.

Transaction processing date means the day of processing of the transaction by the Bank based on the transaction report presented by the respective payment-settlement system.

  1. Terms and Conditions of Card Use
  2. The Card account is opened solely to execute transactions with the Card. Card accounts may be opened and managed in Armenian drams, US dollars and Euros.

2.1.The Card is issued within two banking days (or one banking day, in which case the relevant provisions of the Bank’s tariffs shall apply) upon submission of the Card application, execution of the agreement, signing of the receipt and depositing of the annual service fee and the Minimum balance.

2.2.Upon receipt of the Card the Cardholder should sign in the field on the back of the Card. Absence of signature or its mismatch shall be a legal basis for rejection of Card transaction.

2.3.Together with the Card, the Bank provides a PIN in a sealed envelope. PIN is a 4-digit number necessary to obtain cash from ATMs or perform transactions at POS terminals.

2.4.The Card is valid through the last calendar day of the month/year shown on the Card.

2.5.Upon expiry of the Card validity period the Bank re-issues the Card, unless the Cardholder within 20 days prior to the expiry date notifies the Bank of his intention to close the Card. Note: the Card is re-issued provided the balance on the Card account is sufficient to charge the annual service fee and other fees.

2.6.Each year the Bank charges an annual service fee in the amount defined by the Bank’s tariffs. The annual service fee for the first year of the Card usage is charged up front upon issuance of the Card. The service fee for the other years is charged within the first 10 banking days of the year. Failure to pay the annual service fee in time may result in termination of the Card.

2.7.In case of termination of the Card before the expiry date the charged service fee is not refundable.

  1. Use of the Card
  2. You may not make the Card and the PIN-code available to a third party.
  3. You may not write down the PIN code on the Card. When you enter your PIN code, please make sure it is not visible to other persons and not recorded by the camera. The Bank is not liable for any losses incurred by the Cardholder as a result of disclosure of PIN to third parties.
  4. After three successive incorrect entries of the PIN code the Card will be blocked and swallowed by the ATM. To receive the Card back, please, apply to Ameriabank irrespective of which bank owns the ATM.
  5. If the ATM does not return the Card after the transaction, but the ATM screen and the receipt do not display the seizure notice, you should immediately call the Bank and make sure that the Card has been blocked. Otherwise the Card should be immediately blocked.
  6. You should not use ATMs if their card readers, keyboard or cash dispensing hole are linked to supplementary devices, conductors, adhesive tape, etc.
  7. No online stores and merchants may ask your PIN code. If you have disclosed your PIN code by mistake, please, immediately terminate the transaction and call the Bank to block the Card.
  8. In case of unauthorized use of the Card or such threat you should immediately notify the Bank and request to block the Card at the phone/fax numbers specified in the below clauses 4.1 and 4.2. The Bank shall not be liable for any transaction effected with the Card before the notice given to the Bank as prescribed herein.
  9. When making online etc. payments, you should give preference to secure payment websites and media.
  10. Upon receipt of an SMS on card transaction you should check the transaction amount and status (executed, rejected, etc.). In case of having any claim or objections you should promptly give notice to the Bank at the phone/fax numbers indicated in clauses 4.1 and 4.2 below.
  11. When making payments at merchants, or withdrawing cash from POS-terminals, you should sign the slip (receipt) and check the transaction amount.
  12. The Bank shall not be liable for any direct or indirect losses you may incur through failure or malfunctioning of ATMs, POS-terminals or merchants. The same terms apply to expired Cards.
  13. Transactions in a currency other than that of the Card account are subject to the exchange rate prevailing at the close of the day preceding the Transactions processing date. The Bank shall bear no liability for currency or other related risks. If the transaction is effected through the ArCa-processing ATMs of Ameriabank or other Armenian banks, Ameriabank's exchange rate shall apply. For the card transactions through ATMs, POS-terminals or cashing centers of the banks and merchants which are not members of ArCa system, Visa's or MasterCard's (as the case may require) exchange rates shall apply.
  14. You should keep all receipts and slips until the receipt of the Card account statement.
  15. The Bank provides to the Cardholder an account statement for each month before the 15th day of the month following the billing period. The account statement is provided by the media specified in the Card application. The Cardholder should verify whether the billed amounts correspond to the actual transactions. In case of discrepancies the Cardholder should notify the Bank within 60 (sixty) days upon the transaction date for the Bank to ensure proper and unimpeded settlement as prescribed under the Republic of Armenia legislation. Any claims filed after the expiry of the specified period shall be handled pursuant to the internal regulations and bylaws of the Bank and the Republic of Armenia legislation.
  16. The disputed amount is returned to the client within the below specified terms upon submission of the dispute application (if the amount is not returned, the Bank gives written notice with explanation):
  • not more than 1 (one) month for transactions via ArCa system
  • not more than 2 (two) months for transactions via international systems
  • In case the Cardholder disagrees with the account balance and/or the transactions posted to the account or if the ATM failed to disburse the cash but the amount was debited to the Card account, the Cardholder should apply to the Bank and file a dispute application based on which the Bank will handle the dispute process.
  • The maximum daily cash withdrawal limit may be reviewed by the Bank upon submission of application by the Cardholder.
  • In the event of termination of the agreement, once the Card-related payables are fully settled, the Card account balance shall be transferred to the Cardholder’s bank account 5 banking days after the closure of the Card.
  • In the event of termination of the agreement the Cardholder shall be fully liable for the transactions executed before the termination date.
  • For each additional Card the holder of the principal Card should assign a monthly limit which may not exceed the payment limit of the principal Card.
  • Total transactions with the principal and additional cards should not exceed the payment limit of the principal Card.
  • For issuance of additional card, the Cardholder submits the application and the passport or copy of the passport of the additional card holder. By signing the application, the principal Cardholder authorizes the Bank to charge the amounts of the transactions executed with the additional Card to the principal Cardholder’s Card account.
  • The holder of the principal Card may cancel the additional card at any time, giving prior written notice to the Bank.
  • The Bank shall not be liable for any transaction resulting in breach of the terms herein contained.
  1. Loss of the Card

4.1.In order to immediately block the Card in case of its loss or theft, the Cardholder should promptly notify the Bank, by calling at the number specified on the Card, or:

  • (+374 10) 56 11 11 or by fax: (+374 10) 51 31 33, during business hours,
  • (+374 10) 44 03 80, during non-business hours (ArCa Processing Center).

4.2.The verbal notice should be confirmed in writing within 1 banking day (fax (+374 10 51 31 33) or e-mail () is acceptable). The Card loss notice shall be deemed given to the Bank at the moment the Bank receives the written notification.

4.3.Upon receipt of detailed report on the loss of the Card the Bank shall place the Card in the STOP-list within one banking day.

4.4.If you find the Card which has been declared lost, please, give immediate notice to the Bank.

4.5.Placing the Card in the STOP-list is subject to a fee subject to the applicable rates of the Bank.
