Geography Theme Park Project

The purpose of this project is to design a theme park based on countries around the world. You will use your knowledge of the geography and history of six countries around the world to design rides, shows, and restaurants. Follow the steps below to begin the fun!Due Friday, April 6.

I. Choose six countries and describe the overall area in a paragraph. You have to choose one country each from the following six cultural regions.(1 point each)

II. Design three rides for each country. One of the rides should be for children under five years old. The rides should reflect the history and culture of the country and you must provide a visual representation and description of the ride and how it connects to your overall theme.(12 points each)

III. Design one show based on the cultural heritage of the country. The show can be a play, dance, animal show, or something else that is creative. Provide a full description of the show in paragraph form. The description should be at least a paragraph long.(2 points each)

IV. Design one restaurant with a menu for each country. The menu should have the following:

A. Main course

B. 1 side dish

C. 1 dessert

D. 1 drink

For each menu item write three to four sentences describing the dish and how it relates to the culture of that country.(6 points each)

V. Design a gift shop and describe four items specific to the culture of the country that are sold in the gift shop. Write a couple of sentences for each item describing how it is connected to the culture of that country. (4 points each)

VI. Draw a map of your theme park. The map should have the following:

A. Location of all rides, restaurants, and gift shops.

B. Main gate and ticket booth.

C. Some method of transportation between countries. (Trails, train, sky tram)

D. A legend with symbols that designate restrooms, kid friendly rides, and location of emergency medical services.(10 points)
