Scholarship Update

The J. E. Sirrine Scholarship Program was established through the generosity of the late Joseph Emory Sirrine. Scholarships are awarded for a maximum of four years for undergraduate study at a two- or four-year institution. Sirrine.Criteria: a weighted percentage for the EFC # (Estimated Family Contribution) printed on the Student Aid Report (SAR), a weighted percentage for class rank, and a weighted percentage for test scores (ACT/SAT). The amount of the scholarships are $2,000. Applications and a copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR) must be submitted byApril 15, 2015. We encourage students to apply online at

Upstate Carolina Scholarship for Excellence in Science- Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA overall, a 3.5 GPA in science courses and plan to pursue a career in science. See guidance for an application. Deadline: March 27, 2015

ARCHIBALD RUTLEDGE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM---South Carolina Department of Education---approx. $2,000. CRITERIA: For the following discipline areas: creative writing, dance, music, theater, or visual arts. JAMES F. BYRNES FOUNDATION---$3250 (renewable). CRITERIA: One or both parents deceased.South Carolina resident. Plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree at an accredited 4-yearcollege/university. Have satisfactory academic record. Go to DEADLINE: February 10.

PAUL MITCHELL the SCHOOL GREENVILLE---$2000. Cosmetology school CRITERIA: Must beaccepted at Paul Mitchell. Must be U.S. Citizen and graduate June 2015. Requires essay andletters of recommendation. Complete information DEADLINE: March 25.
WACE NATIONAL CO-OP---$6000 (renewable). CRITERIA: GPA 3.5 or higher on 4.0 (unweightedscale). Apply and be accepted at one of the 11 participating colleges (listed on application). Go to to apply. DEADLINE:February 15.

NROTC SCHOLARSHIPS---Full tuition to a college offering NROTC, up to $180,000. CRITERIA:Open to high school seniors with an ACT math score of 21 or higher, and ACT English score of 22or higher. Average physical fitness ability is also needed. No commitment required until afterfreshman year of college. Apply at –follow instructions and be sure tocheck whether you wish to follow the Marine option or the Navy option. DEADLINE: January 31.

SOUTH CAROLINA ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES---2015 Board of Directors Scholarship---$2500will be awarded to ONE Greenville County student by lottery. CRITERIA: Plans to attend a 2-year or 4-yearSouth Carolina college/university. Applicants judged on essay, grades, school activities, andcommunity activities. ATHNET SPORTS RECRUITING SCHOLARSHIP---$1,000Athnet helps athletes find opportunites toplay college sports and get an athletic scholarship. CRITERIA: Write a 400-500 word essaydescribing how the lessons you have learned through playing sports have positively impactedyou as you pursue your college education. Check out their website @ .
