Title: KEEPING THE FATHER HAPPY

Scripture Text: Proverbs 23:25

INTRODUCTION

Ultimately, we want the Father to be happy. When Jesus was on the earth, He kept pointing to the Father. This was important because He was a representation of His Father. He was about His Father’s business. When we bring joy to the Father, good things happen. God wants to be excited for us. We should do everything to make our parents happy and not bring grief to them.

Points of Discussion

How to make the Father happy

·  When you act in wisdom - Proverbs 15:20

·  When you walk in wisdom- Proverbs 4:1- wisdom is not the one that does not make mistakes, but the one who takes correction - the key to wisdom is to hear and respond to the Father’s voice.

·  When you are proud of your father - Proverbs 17:6

·  When we accept correction - Proverbs 3:12

·  Bless your Father if you want light Proverbs 20:20 - when you have no lamp you have no light.

Things you need to know…

Who the Father is:

·  What is our Father’s will concerning us? - Matthew 6:10

·  Our Father sees - Matthew 6:4- whatever we do in secret is seen by the Father and He rewards us accordingly.

·  Our Father feeds us - Matthew 6:26- God has everything we lack. He always provides what we need.

·  Our Father knows - Matthew 6:8 - He knows our needs and what we are going through and what you will go through. He knows what we can handle.

·  Our Father hears every cry, we make.

·  Our Father will act on our behalf and never fail us.

CONCLUSION

It is important that we listen to our parents. If we can learn from our father’s mistakes, we will be greater than our father. Children should never look down on their father, because he may not be educated. There is much we can learn from his experience. Our heavenly Father’s will for us in Matthew 5:16 is for us to let our lights shine so that He can receive the glory. That’s why we were created and no one is a mistake. Your parents may not have planned for you, but your heavenly Father has a plan. We should strive to make our Father proud by doing His will and living a life of wisdom.
