Training/Education

Outcome: Students will learn the necessary training/education needed to obtain a job/career that fits with their five year vision*

Objectives:

·  Students will learn about different degrees/certificates and what they allow you to do

·  Students will learn how long it takes to obtain certain degrees/certificates

·  Students will learn about different types of schools/training institutions

·  Students will learn about programs other than college/trade schools available after high school

·  Students will compare/contrast the cost of different institutions

Discussion topics may include:

-What is the difference between an associate/bachelor/master degree?

-What is a certificate and what types of things can you obtain them for?

-Is a specific license/credential needed after you complete a program in order to do the job/career that you are pursuing? (i.e daycare license, cosmetology license, registered nurse (RN), Nursing Assistant (CNA), etc.).

-What do you know about local institutions and the programs they offer?

-Do you believe it is worth it to attend school/a training program after high school? Why or why not?
