- MS Restroom Renovation – The Max Salazar restrooms on the first through fourth floors will be renovated in two phases the construction duration is expected to be five months...pending no unexpected surprises. We are projecting that the first phase which will be the MEN and WOMEN restrooms on two floors will began construction in June 2016. The remaining two restrooms will remain open for use during Phase 1. Phase 2 construction will be the remaining two restrooms.
- MS HVAC Project – A new stand-alone utility plant building located directly north of Max Salazar. This will affect all pedestrian circulation north of Max Salazar and will close entrance on the north side due to safety from construction activity. Construction duration is expected throughout the Summer 2016 and Fall 2016 Terms.
CNM Graduation / Rudy Garcia / Apr 30 / If you own your own regalia but need a EXPO NM Parking Pass for the Spring 2016 Graduation Ceremony, please stop by the Student Activities Office at Main Campus to pick up the EXPO NM Parking Pass. The Parking Pass will be available be beginning Monday, April 11th, 2016 through Thursday, April 28th, 2016.

Volunteer Faculty Members Needed to Present at New Student Orientation / Christina Chavez / CNM Outreach is seeking faculty members to volunteer to talk to new students during New Student Orientation sessions leading up to the 2016 Fall Term. The speakers will talk about how to “Be Curious” as stated in the 10 Habits of Successful Students video on CNM’s YouTube channel. They will also speak to parents, siblings, family members and friends of the new students during Family and Ally sessions. CNM Surveying Technology Students Take Second Place in National Contest / CNM Surveying Technology students, coached by Surveying Instructor Ron Forstbauer, took second place at the National Society of Professional Surveyors Annual Student Competition in Arlington, Va., last month. The students participating in the competition were Dustin Cooper, James Allison and Antonio Erreguin. Charles Funnell was part of the team, but was unable to make the trip. Their participation was generously supported by the New Mexico Professional Surveyors, the NMPS Middle Rio Grande Chapter, the NMPS Southern Rio Grande Chapter, the North Central Chapter, the NMPS Educational Foundation and DePauli Engineering. Students in Need Can Get Free Box of Food / Libby Fatta / Apr 23 / The CNM Student Military and Veterans Charter, is partnering with Roadrunner Food Bank to sponsor a Mobile Food Pantry on Saturday, April 23, at 9 a.m. in the Smith Brasher Hall parking lot, just west of Robert P. Matteucci Hall.Students with a valid CNM Student ID and current Spring Term class schedulewill be able to receive a box of fresh and dry food goods for a family of four on a first-come, first-serve basis. NMSU Leasing Space from CNM at the Montoya Campus / NMSU will be leasing space in the K Building at the Montoya campus. Academic Affairs will be working with NMSU to develop programs that will allow students to graduate from CNM and then from NMSU. (Approved by the CNM Governing Board on 04/12. Still needs to be approved by the State)
New Automation of Travel Pre-Authorizations and Requests Have Been Implemented / The Travel Authorization Workflow is a tool designed to automate the business process for travel pre-authorization and travel requests requiring approvals. The documents are designed to work with other business processes such at the Travel Voucher and P-card purchases for travel-related expenses.This functionality is now in effect. CNM Libraries Annual Authors Event / Apr 21 / Join the CNM Libraries April 21 from 6:30-8 p.m. at Main Campus in the Jeanette Stromberg Library to welcome visiting poet Jamaal May. May’s collection of poems are “Hum and The Big Book of Exit Strategies.” His first collection, “Hum” is a “bittersweet love song” to the ruined streets of his native Detroit. Since its publication in 2013, May has won the Beatrice Hawley Award, the ALA Notable Book Award and was a finalist for the NAACP Image award and Kate Tufts Discovery Award. CNM, Hispano Chamber Partner to Support ‘Emprendedores’ / CNM and the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce have teamed up to help monolingual and bilingual Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs, or “emprendedores,” develop and grow their small businesses or business ideas. The goal of the program, called Emprendedores, is to foster economic development and job growth among an underserved population of aspiring entrepreneurs. Read more.
1095 Affordable Care Act (ACA)Tax Form Available Online / All employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, as well as any employee enrolled in healthcare coverage through CNM at any time in 2015, will receive a 1095 tax form from CNM. Read more.
BIT Employees Prepare Dinner for 60 at Ronald McDonald House / Six employees from the School of Business & Information Technology (BIT) participated in serving the community by preparing a dinner for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. Read more.
