Hallowtree is near Ipswich next to the Orwell river. From the A14 take the Nacton turnoff junction 57 (signposted Nacton/Ransomes Europark towards Ipswich). Then take next left after 100 metres signposted Hallowtree. After crossing narrow bridge take next left.

SITE RULES

We try to keep the number of rules to a minimum, but in the interests of keeping the site in good condition for those following you, and a peaceful stay for everyone, please bear with us over the following points:

Camping at Hallowtree is aimed at Scout and Guide Association members and permission to camp must be obtained from the Hallowtree Warden in advance.

We ask that you leave your pets at home in the interests of hygiene and others.

We have invested much time and effort in new trees and bushes, so please leave them alone.

Campers on sites pre-booked by other groups will be required to move.

Please keep noise to a minimum and keep quiet between 11pm & 7am.

On Arrival

Check your site allocation with the warden.
Pay camp fees to the warden or warden on duty.
Vehicles and trailers are allowed onto camping aeras to unload heavy equipment.

Car Parking

All vehicles must be parked in the car parking areas, so as not to obstruct access to others.
Preferably in the main car park.

Open Fires

Trees MUST NOT be cut down, nor wood removed from live trees.
Ground fires are only allowed in campfire circles and at site E.

Alter fires are available if booked in advance.

Hallowtree reserves the right to ban fires during exceptional weather conditions.

Grills can be hired for £5 for the duration of the camp.

Wet Pits

No holes are allowed on camping areas. Wet pits can be dug in undergrowth using a plastic bag with holes in to catch non liquid waste.

Site Boundaries

Land outside Hallowtree is private and must be not tresspassed. Access to river can be gained through the bottom of the campsite.

Water

Mains water is metered and has to be paid for, so please ensure all taps are turned off after use. Drinking water taps are marked on the map with a 't'.

Toilets and Showers

At Hallowtree we pride ourselves by keeping these facilities clean. Could all leaders please ensure their groups use these correctly and report any problems to the duty warden.

CampRubbish

To help us reduce our rubbish disposal costs please recycle - plastic, tin & paper. Bins are in the main carpark. Large items of cadboard can be burnt on campfires.

Before Leaving

All equipment borrowed from the Hallowtree must be cleaned and returned to the relevant place prior to departure.
Clear ashes and unused wood from fire places, remove all litter and food scraps from your site.

Invite the warden to inspect your site, which must be left in a clean and tidy state.

Please make your final payment for your stay.

We will intend to respond within 7 working days after receiving your request.

All provisional bookings are held for a maximum of 21 days. Thereafter the facilities will be released for alternative bookings.

Please note that in the event of a booking being cancelled within a 2 month period prior to the start date, unless we are able to re-book the facilities a charge of up to the full amount will be made.
