A Letter from
the President…
Hi All,
Hope this newsletter finds you all rested from your summer. I would like to thank all of the great women who have gotten together over the summer to plan our wonderful lineup of events for the coming year.
Our monthly meetings will be filled with good food and informative speakers. In August we will host Jalon Burton of "It Can Be Arranged" and the "House Doctors" radio show on 92.5 the Bear. She will give us all advice on how to decorate from things we already have and what to add to decorate on a budget. Our October meeting will have a group of women who all have businesses that help women be healthy and beautiful. There will be demonstrations on Reflexology, Reiki, electrolysis and ChiGong. It promises to be a lot of fun. These are just two of the things we have planned for the coming year.
I would also like to let everyone know that the Toga Trot planning is in full swing. The group working on this has really gone above and beyond. Please remember that this is our main fundraiser (other than your voluntary donations) that helps fund our scholarships. The date for the Toga Trot is Saturday October 31st. Please mark your calendar now to save the date come help or run/walk.
Thank you all for the opportunity to serve ASCAPA as President. I hope I can lead as well as the great women before me.
Fraternally,
Laura Potash

Recommendations
THANK YOU to all of the wonderful alumnae who wrote recommendations for women from the Southern Crescent – and beyond! - going through recruitment (Rush) this Fall. We had over 50 young women come to us for all or some of their recs, including some out of area girls who found us on the web or whose moms are friends of ASCAPA members. We know it takes time to do these recs but the pay-off is that our beloved sororities will continue to grow & flourish! THANK YOU!
Newsletter Editor Needed!
ASCAPA IS GOING GREEN and we need some new Panhellenic blood to help us with this newsletter – especially if you can create it in Adobe Acrobat format! We can really use your help! Please contact Cele Eifert if you are interested in this duty.
Philanthropy Ideas?
