MY FM Magnum GRANT PROGRAMME (the “Programme”)

A. Introduction

Airtime Management and Programming Sdn Bhd (AMP) being part of ASTRO All ASIA BROADCAST Plc (ASTRO) strongly believe that education is one of the ways to assist and help the people to better themselves and to build a greater future for their families, community and ultimately for their country. It is with this firm believe that AMP through its radio station “MY FM” together with Magnum Corporation Berhad (Magnum) establishes this Programme to provide financial assistance for young outstanding Chinese Malaysian students to continue performing well in schools.

The goal of the Programme is to promote academic excellence by providing outstanding students, who are in need of financial assistance, the opportunity to reach their full potential in the future. This Programme provides a grant of RM 5,000.00 (“Grant”) towards the successful recipient which can be used by the recipient to go towards his/her tuition fees and/or other educational expenses or personal needs. Four successful recipient will be chosen in each quarter (March 2008, June 2008, August 2008 and November 2008) to receive the grant and announcements will be made through MY FM (on air and on line). It is a one off payment mainly to reward the recipient and to assist them financially. This payment will be deposited directly into the recipient’s bank account.

AMP, MY FM and Magnum hope that this Programme will lessen the recipient’s financial burden and encourage supports the recipient to complete their education.

B. Eligibility

1. The Programme is offered to all Malaysian citizens below the age of 25 years old (at the time of application or submission).

2. The applicant and/or nominee must be a fulltime student studying in public colleges or university (which has been accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia) and /or have gained admission to pursue a degree or a diploma course at the respective public colleges as a fulltime student at the date of application or submission.

3. An applicant and/or a nominee must have a strong academic background and have demonstrated caring and leadership abilities through participation in school or community service activities, extracurricular or other social or school activities.

4 An applicant and/or a nominee must not be bonded, sponsored by any other organizations or private institutions. Financial or other assistance received from the Welfare Department and/or other charitable organization does not fall under this prohibition.

5. An applicant and/or a nominee can only receive the Grant once but they are allowed to re-apply if they are not successful in their earlier application and/or submission.

3.5  The reason why the nominee should receive the Grant in 50 words.

4. An applicant and/or a nominee must complete / provide all details requested (see Clause 2 and 3 above) and submit the same via post (see Clause 1 above) before the respective closing dates of each quarter. Only applications submitted and received by us by the respective dates shall be accepted and reviewed. Proof of online submission is not proof of receipt.

5. The closing date for each quarter are as follows:-

6. Only short-listed applicants and/or nominees will be notified by post or telephone call for an interview with AMP, MY FM and Magnum. Date, time and venue will be set at a latter date.

7. The short-listed applicants and/or nominee must bring his/her original documentation during the interview.

D. Special Conditions

1. An applicant and/or a nominee /nominater is responsible for all cost incurred

in the course of applying for the Programme.

2. AMP, MY FM and Magnum shall not be liable in any way for any costs, expenses, damages, liability or injury arising from or in any way connected with the Programme.

3. An applicant and/or a nominee agrees that AMP, MY FM and Magnum may incorporate information from them in any data base for use in the ordinary course of its business.

4. AMP and MY FM reserve the right to amend, delete or add to these Terms and Conditions without prior notice at any time at its sole and absolute discretion and an applicant and a nominee shall be bound to such changes.

5. AMP reserves the right to cancel, modify, suspend, delay or withdraw this Programne at anytime whatsoever in the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

6. All decisions made by AMP, MY FM and Magnum in any matter relating to the Programme (including but not limited to the recipient of the Grant) shall be final and conclusive. No appeal, discussion or correspondences will be entertained.

7. If AMP found out that the recipient of the grant have given AMP false information or made false representation, AMP will request that the recipient return the grant back within 7 days from the date of AMP’s notice. Failure to do so, AMP will make a police report against the recipient for cheating and will assist the police in their investigation.

E. Publicity / Intellectual Property Rights

1. AMP, MY FM and Magnum reserve the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to use the names, photographs, voice or video recordings of the applicant(s) and/or the nominee(s) and/or their representatives or the nominater without first obtaining any consent nor making any payment whatsoever to the applicant(s) and/or the nominee(s) and/or their representatives or the nominater for publicity, advertising, trade or promotion purposes.

2. An applicants and/or a nominee may be required by AMP, MY FM and Magnum to participate in press conferences, interviews, photo shoots, video and/or film recording sessions and acknowledge that AMP and My FM have the right to use such interviews, publicity photos, videos and/or films in any medium and in any reasonable manner it sees fit, without payment of any compensation whatsoever.

3. An applicant and/or a nominee shall not without the specific prior written consent of AMP publish or disclose any information in connection with the Programme and/or the Grant without limitation to representatives of media in whatsoever form. An applicant and/or a nominee shall not be entitled to give interviews or be involved in articles or reports in respect of the Programme or the Grant with any third party without prior written approval from AMP.

4. An applicant and/or a nominee hereby acknowledges that AMP, MY FM and Magnum owns the entire copyright and other intellectual property rights in the Programme and their involvement in the Programme in all medium in perpetuity.

F. Liability

1. AMP, MY FM and Magnum shall not be responsible or liable for any problem, loss or damage of whatsoever nature suffered by an applicant(s) and/or a nominee due to any delay and/or failure in submitting/nominating his/her application via post .

G. Announcement

1. The recipient in each quarter will be announced by AMP, MY FM and Magnum through MY FM official website and recipient shall be notified via official offer letter from MY FM.

A: AMP and Magnum plan to give out 16 grants during this one year Programme.

Q: Who can apply for the Programme?
A: This programme is offered to all Malaysian Citizens below the age of 25 years.

Q: I am currently doing a diploma/professional course in one college but have been accepted by a university recently. May I apply?
A: YES.
Q: I am already studying in a university. Can I still apply for the programme?
A: YES. As long as applicants are Malaysian Citizen below the age of 25 years.

Q: How do I apply for the Programme?
A: Applicants may send in their application via mail to AMP Radio Networks, MY FM Promotions Department or email to MY FM mailbox.

Q: I am currently studying in a secondary school. Can I still apply for the Programme?
A: No. This programmed is offered to College & University students only.

Q: When can I start applying and when will I know if I have been successful?
A: There are 4 windows of application as follows:

1st Quarter January – March 2008

2nd Quarter March - May 2008

3rd Quarter May - August 2008

4th Quarter August - October 2008

Q: What other documents must I submit with my application? Do I need to submit my transcripts, certifications, and application form by mail?
A: You do not submit any physical document until you are short-listed. You simply sent in your application or nomination via the two mode i.e. via e-mail or post.

Q: I have just submitted my application via e-mail, but I forgot to correct a mistake in there. Can I resend it again?
A: No, you will not be able to change it and you cannot send in a second application in a quarter. Please ensure all details are accurate. Any incorrect information may be deemed as a deliberate attempt to mislead and thus bring your integrity into question.
Q: Which examination results should I use in my application and what other information is required?
A: You are required to submit your 2 most recent examination results as well as your SPM results for our assessment. AMP and Magnum will be looking at your academic excellence as well as any other relevant extra curricular activities which will help demonstrate your caring and leadership abilities.


Q: What are the criteria MY FM & Magnum Corporation Berhad uses to decide who gets the Scholarship?

A: There are 3 stages: In Stage 1, MY FM will receive applications from the public. In Stage 2, 8 applicants will be shortlisted and will be interviewed by the panel of interviewers comprising of MYFM and Magnum Corporation Berhad representatives. Stage 3, the Final 4 winners will be announced by MYFM or Magnum Corporation Berhad. The criteria are academic performance, extra curricular performance, current family financial status and other relevant criteria which help in making decision.

Q: Will I be bonded?
A: No, you will not be bonded to anyone.
Q: If I were chosen to receive the grant under the Programme, can I receive additional financial assistance from other organizations?
A: You may as long as the organizations are the Welfare Departments and/or other registered charitable organizations.
