1. Call to Order –

Safety Committee Meeting called to order on January 29, 2016 at 2:05 p.m.

2. Roll Call – Sign in

3. Approval of Minutes –

Committee reviewed and approved the minutes of November 20, 2015.

4. Accident Reports –

The committee reviewed and discussed 36 student injuries that occurred in Dec/Jan. It appears that the uptick is the result of football season. The committee also reviewed 7 employee injuries that occurred in Dec/Jan, none of which resulted in serious injury.

5. Old Business –

·  Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Books are Being Updated for ALL Sites

6. New Business/Safety Reports and Discussion –

·  Safety Grant - December 1, 2015 was approved. SLCUSD received $18,092.67

·  Annual Health & Safety Inspections Are Under Way at ALL Sites

7. Risk Management/SIPE Report –

·  Countywide Workshop is coming up – March 18, 2016, El Nino Preparation, Golf Cart Policy Update, Cal / OSHA Update, Use of Drones Policy, District X-Modifier Update, To Date SIPE Expenses.

8. Budget Report – Committee reviewed income and expenditure report from the SIPE Credit Program application. Expenditures approved by Safety Committee through January 29, 2016.

9. Budget Expenditures, Review/Approval – Dec/Jan Expenditures

1each Ergotron Dual Sit/Stand Work Platforms - $1,112.40

5each Office Chair Mats – $105.79

5each Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboards - $242.75

2each Humanscale Dual Quikstands - $1,284.12

1each Dual Function Moisture Meter - $461.67

Total - $3,206.73

10. Review Inspections and Training Reports –

·  Cal / OSHA Compliance 2016 Training – December 4, 2015

·  Lead Paint Abatement Training @ Cal Poly – February 16, 2016

11. Safety Incentive Program –

Safety Committee awarded $50 Chevron gift cards to Wylmina atLAMS andCynthia Vangerwen at Food Service as winners of the January SIPE Safety Quiz. Safety Committee also awarded $25 Miner’s gift cards to Daria Hernandez, Roena Hartshorn, Kristy Sabo, Rachelle Steiger, Diana Jones, and Laurie Alexander-Hills for being “Caught in the Act of Safety” by their peers.

12. Next Meeting Date, Time, and Location –

Next Scheduled Safety Meeting is February 26th at 2:00pm at Personnel Conference Room.
