Through the dates of Friday May 3, 2013 and Thursday, May 9, 2013 the Preston County Sheriff’s Office handled 98 calls for service which included 14 Concealed Weapon Applications, 7 Larceny complaints, 5 Extra Patrol requests, investigated 5 Traffic crashes, 4 suspicious events, 3 Assault/Battery complaints, arrested 5 individuals who were all transported to the Tygart Valley Regional Jail and issued 36 citations.

Case #1300001710BurglaryFriday, May 10, 2013, Deputy S. R. Mitter received a complaint from a Terra Alta resident who reported having cash stolen from her apartment the week before. This is a continuing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Deputy Mitter.
Case #1300001703FraudSunday, May 12, 2013, Lt. J. Stiles received a complaint involving the use of credit cards in the Kingwood area. This is a continuing investigation.
Case #1300001704Destruction of PropertySunday, May 12, 2013, Cpl. R. F. Dotson responded to a destruction of property complaint near Reedsville along Route 7. The victim reported that his tires were slashed and eggs had been thrown at his car and similar unreported incidents have happened recently.
Case #1300001714Grand LarcenyMonday, May 13, 2013, Chief Deputy Pritt responded to the new Terra Alta School construction site for a reported larceny. Suspect(s) removed several hundred feet of copper wire from the site. This is a continuing investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Chief Deputy Pritt at the Sheriff’s Office.
