“Every child deserves a champion; an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best they can possibly be.” – Rita Pierson

Greetings Clipper Family,

The efforts of our department are an extension of the mission of Oxon Hill High School. The mission of the Oxon Hill High School Counseling Department is to deliver a comprehensive school counseling program addressing students’ academic, career, and social/emotional needs. Our students will attain all the skills necessary to be positive leaders, advocates, and change agents in our global society. Through leadership and advocacy, our data driven school-counseling program collaborates to increase equity, self-awareness and access for all students while maintaining ethical standards. You too are a Champion and an integral part of our team.

As an integral part of our team, we are committed to keeping you in the loop with ongoing communication and succinct rapport. To this degree, we have had to revamp our caseload distributions. Until further notice, Ms. Jamison will service students A & B and Ms. Steele C &D. Ms. Jamison and Ms. Steele will still service students L-R and E-K respectively.

In addition to this change in caseload distribution, we warmly would like to introduce and welcome Ms. Angela Melton, Professional School Counselor to The Oxon Hill High School’s Professional School Counseling Team. Ms. Melton will be serving students S-Z. We look forward to you and your scholar meeting and working with Ms. Melton as we are excited to have her.

We look forward to continuously working with you on behalf of your scholar.
