POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT – Loan Outreach and Lending Compliance Officer

Since becoming a certified Community Development Financial Institution in 1998, the Center has also provided technical assistance, training, or credit counseling to more than 17,000 individuals and small businesses. PathStone Enterprise Center is the lending and economic development affiliate of PathStone Corporation whose mission is building family and individual self-sufficiency by strengthening farmworker, rural and urban communities. Position Summary: The Lending Compliance Officer is responsible for processing, underwriting and monitoring regulatory compliance on the Enterprise Center’s residential loans. This position will be responsible for loan closing of any residential loans. Strong knowledge of TILA, RESPA and other mortgage lending regulations and a working knowledge of mortgage lending software are a requirement for the job, as is familiarity with Finger Lakes region mortgage lenders and small business lenders. This position will also be responsible for training and technical supervision of loan originations from the PathStone Revolving Loan Fund by PathStone’s First Time Home Buyer program staff in three states and Puerto Rico. The Lending Compliance Officer will also assist with outreach and technical assistance in the Enterprise Center’s small business lending program. Experience with financial literacy programs, mortgage counseling, and business plan development will be considered a plus.

Requirements:

-Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in non-profit housing, banking or other housing or business finance.

-Advanced knowledge of the principles, requirements, regulations and laws governing mortgage lending and understanding the principles and methods of financing small businesses.

-Ability to read, analyze and evaluate credit histories, financial statements, loan documents, knowledge of loan software and apply information to a loan application.

-Ability to apply knowledge of PathStone goals and mission to housing and economic development programs.

-Position requires expert written and verbal communication skills. Spanish communications skills will be a plus.

-Ability to work cooperatively with a team of small business lenders.

-Ability to provide technical supervision on mortgage lending for the first time home buyer staff at PathStone.

-Ability and willingness to advocate for policy positions which benefit PathStone’s clients.

-Work may require evening, night or weekend assignments on occasion.
