Painting competition - cum - commemorative function of Road Safety club-20 Feb. 2014
As a part of Delhi Police Week–2014 celebrations, onthespot Painting Competition-cum-Commemorative function of Road Safety Club was organized at India Gate Lawns by Delhi Traffic Police in association with Society for Indian Automobiles Manufactures(SIAM) and Hero Moto Corp to create awareness amongst children about the importance of road safety norms and need for obeying traffic rules.
Legendary all-rounder cricketer Shri Kapil Dev graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Addl. Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sh. Anil Shukla and other officers of Delhi Traffic Police were also present at the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Anil Shukla, Addl. Commissioner of Police,Traffic, Delhi called upon the schools and students to make active contribution towards the cause of road safety by spreading awareness. He stressed upon thestudents to obey traffic rules, use zebra crossings, subways and foot over bridges to reduce pedestrian fatalities on roads. He also exhorted the children that by obeying traffic rules we can reduce the fatality rate which is around 1800 per year. He also appreciated the Road Safety team for their active participation in imparting road safety education to school children by visiting schools and advised them to continue it with same vigour in future as well.
Shri Kapil Dev speaking on the occasion stressed upon the participating children to obey traffic rules and the need to wear helmet and seat belt while driving. He also advised school principals and teachers to inculcate good traffic sense and awareness about following traffic rules in their students. He stressed on the need of good health and sports in the life of a student and also appreciated the on the spot paintings prepared by school children.
Road safety All Round Best Rolling Trophy along with cash prize of Rs.15,000/- for best activities in the field of Road Safety during 2013, sponsored by Society for Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), was jointly awarded by Chief Guest Sh. Kapil Dev and Addl. CP/Traffic Sh. Anil Shukla to ApeejaySchool, Pitampura Delhi. 2nd Prize for best activities in Road Safety Club during 2013 was awardedtoGyanMandirPublic School, Naraina, Delhi.
A team of jury comprising of faculties from Delhi College of Art and Department of Art - Jamia Milia Islamia adjudged the paintings of about 868 participants from 34 leading schools and declared the prize winners from Primary, Middle and Secondary groups, of the Painting Competition who were felicitated by the Chief Guest. In the Primary category,Ajitesh Singh of SachdevaPublic School, Rohini, Delhi, in the Middle category Sudiksha from Spring Dales School, Pusa Road and in the secondary category Prateek Kushwa from Govt.BoysSr. Sec.School, Nangloi were adjudged the best.

The staff of PP Madipur, Police Station Punjabi Bagh, West District has apprehended two juvenile in conflict with law who are involved in Robbery and theft cases.
RECOVERY MADE

CASES WORK-OUT
- Case FIR No. 105/14 u/s 394/34 IPC dated 19/02/14 PS Punjabi Bagh, Delhi.
- Case FIR No. 101/14 u/s 379/34 IPC dated 17/02/14 PS Punjabi Bagh, Delhi.
INFORMATION/OPERATION:
In order to preventburglaries/theftsincidents and to nab the criminals involved in these cases, a team of staff of PS Punjabi Bagh, comprising SI Kuldeep Shekhawat, I/C PP Madipur, HC Narender No-1658/W, and CT Ajay No-1399/W was constituted under the leadership of Inspr. Virender Dalal, SHO/Punjabi Bagh & overall supervision of Sh. Harcharan Verma, ACP/Punjabi Bagh to collect information and bust the gang. The team worked relentlessly and collected details of several criminals with similar modus operandi and activated their secret informers to collect the information about the rackets involved in these cases.
The hard work of team bore fruit, specific information was received through reliable sources to SI Kuldeep Shekhawat, I/C PP Madipur that two juveniles of PS Punjabi Bagh havebeen operating in house burglaries, Robberies & thefts. On this, secret sources were deployed to collect further intelligence about this gang. On 20/02/14 specific information was developed by SI Kuldeep that at about 8 AM, the gang members will come near Murli Dairy Sweets, Madipur Colony, Delhi to commit crime. Onthe basis of this information, the raiding party was deployed near Murli dairy Sweets, Madipur Colony, Delhi. At about 8:30 AM, two JCL’s came at spot & at the instance of secret informer, the JCL along with the Robbed case property (Mobile phone make Samsung and a kitchen knife) was apprehended by police party.
During asking, they informed that as they came in contact with the bad elements of Jhuggi clusters and they started taking drugs. On 19-02-14 they robbed a person in the morning and spent the bootyfor their entertainment. Further raids are being conducted to apprehend the other racket members.

TWO DESPERATE ROBBERS ARRESTED
Staff of Police Station Vikas Puri, West District has done good work by arresting two desperate robbers namely Kunal @ Kannu and Rahul and one dagger, purse, Rs. 400/- cash was also recovered.
NAME AND PROFILE OF ACCUSED ARRESTED
- Kunal @ Kannu S/o Mahender r/o H. No. 123, Nihal Vihar, RZ-Block, Delhi age 25 years.
- Rahul S/o Dara Singh R/o E-5, Deep Enclave, Vikas Nagar, New Delhi, age 22 years.
RECOVERY
- One dagger (knife) used in committing the crime.
- One purse, Rs. 400/- cash and two voting ID card.

INFORMATION AND OPERATION
On 19.02.2014, complainant Sh. Suresh Kumar R/o Nihal Vihar, driver of tempo (Champion) stated that when at about 2.15 PM, he parked his champion after coming from Chander Vihar to Uttam Nagar, suddenly two boys came from behind and grabbed his collar and one of the boys on knife point forcibly robbed his purse containing Rs. 200/-, voter Id. card, visiting card and took out Rs. 100/- from his jacket’s pocket. After robbing, they started running but the complainant shouted and after a short chase he himself caught hold one of them who was having knife. On hearing noise, the alert beat staff also reached the spot. The other person was also apprehended by one public person namely Ram Kumar with the help of beat staff at a short distance.
INTERROGATION AND MODUS OPERANDI
During sustained interrogation of both the accused, they confessed their crime. They disclosed that they are drug addicts and after consuming/taking drugs, they used to rob the person at the point of knife. They confessed to have committed robbery in which they robbed Rs. 500/- and Rs. 700/- from two auto drivers.
The staff involved in good work is being rewarded suitably.

ONE SNATCHER ARRESTED
One person namely Sh. Kishan aged 22 years R/o Namdhari Colony Kirti Nagar, West District has shown great courage by apprehending one snatcher, red handed with the help of his friend who was running after snatching mobile.

INCIDENT
On 19.02.2014 at 8.30 PM complainant Sh. Kishan R/o Namdhari Colony, Kirti Nagar, Delhi was going to market carrying a mobile phone Nokia C-203. When he reached at MS Garden in front of B-33 two persons came from backside and one of them snatched his mobile phone and started running. After a short chase he shouted for help. The complainant caught hold one of them and dialed 100 number. ASI Chhat Ram reached the spot and interrogated the apprehended person. After interrogation he was identified as Butai involved in snatching of complainant’s mobile phone with other boy namely Monu. In this regard, a case FIR No. 101/14, U/S 356/379/34 IPC is registered at PS Kirti Nagar.
INVESTIGATION & OPERATION: -
On sustained interrogation, he disclosed that he had made such crime with his associate. Further he disclosed that he was working as a fruit vendor at Kirti Nagar and due to habit of smoking/drinking he indulged himself in small crimes. His associates namely Monu, a Vegabond fled away from the spot. A team has been dispatched in the search of absconding accused Monu is being made.
The public persons are being rewarded for showing courageous good work.

THREE KIDNAPPED GIRLS RESCUED
WITHIN 24 HOURS
The staff of police station Tilak Nagar, West District has done an excellent work by rescuing three girls within 24hours.
BRIEF FACTS/INCIDENT
On 18.2.13, one complainant R/o Tilak Nagar, Delhi reported that his two daughters aged 15 years and aged 14 years went to school at 7 AM but both have not returned to home. He made extensive search for them in the area but he did not find them.A case U/s 363 dated 18-02-14 IPC was registered at PS Tilak Nagar and investigation was taken up.On the same day, an another case wasreported U/s 363 IPC dated 18-02-14 in PS Tilak Nagar in which another complainant R/o Tilak Nagar Delhi reported that his girl aged 15 years also disappeared from school.
TEAM AND INVESTIGATION
A team of staff of Police Station Tilak Nagar under the supervision of Inspr. Jitender Kumar, SHO/Tilak Nagar and overall supervision of Sh. Vinit Kumar, ACP/Tilak Nagar was constituted to search the kidnapped girls.
All out efforts were made to trace the missing girls in both the cases.Numbers of persons were interrogated and an intensive search was made in the adjoining areas of PS Tilak Nagar but there was no clue.
During the investigation, an information was received that one girl has received a telephonic call from PCO Amritsar Punjab on her mobile phone from the missing girl.Immediately, after receipt of this information, a dedicated team comprising Inspr. Jitender Kumar Malik SHO/Tilak Nagar, ASI Paramjit Singh, HC Anita, Ct Udam and under the supervision of ACP Tilak Nagar was constituted and dispatched to Amristar Punjab on 19.2.2014. As per the input, the team conducted the search operations.After consisting efforts, three missing girls have been recovered from Amirstar with in 24 hours.Further investigation is being conducted. During the course of interrogation, it has come to notice that for fear examination they had gone toAmritsar,Punjab.No any foul play has come to notice.Further investigation is on.

SPECIAL CELL

ILLEGAL GUN TRADING RACKET BUSTED : 10 SOPHISTICATED SEMI AUTOMATIC PISTOLS OF 7.65 MM RECOVERED
A team of Special Cell led by Inspector Manoj Dixit and Inspector Shiv Kumar under the supervision of Sh. Satyavir Singh, ACP/SR, Special Cell, has busted an Inter-State gang indulging in illegal firearm trade. The gang procured sophisticated semi automatic pistols from Khargone (M.P.) and sold them further to criminal elements in the area of Delhi and NCR. The apprehended person include Sanju S/o Balbir R/o Village Kareel, Tehsil & Distt. Hathras, UP aged 22 years. A haul of 10 semi automatic sophisticated pistols of 7.65 MM have been recovered from the possession of accused person.
Operation: An in-house study into the growing use of sophisticated firearms over last few years revealed that in most of the cases, illegal weapons used in commission of various crimes in Delhi, were manufactured and supplied from Distt. Barwani, Dhar and Khargone of Madhya Pradesh and later smuggled into Delhi and NCR. Accordingly, a team of Special Cell led by Inspector Manoj Dixit and Inspector Shiv Kumar worked diligently and relentlessly by deploying informers in and around Delhi, UP West and Madhya Pradesh. After sustained perseverance, on 19.02.14, a specific information was received that a huge consignment of illegal weapons shall be supplied near Sarai Kale Khan ISBT, New Delhi. On this information, Inspr. Manoj Dixit and Inspr. Shiv Kumar alongwith staff laid a trap near Ring Road, ISBT Sarai Kale Khan, New Delhi. After painstaking efforts, at about 08:50 PM, one suspicious person holding a red colour travelling bag was tracked near Bala Sahib Gurudwara, Ring Road, who was waiting for someone. At that time, he was overpowered and apprehended, whose name and address was known as Sanju S/o Balbir R/o Village Kareel, Tehsil and Distt. Hathras, UP. A thorough search followed, which resulted in recovery of total 10 pistols. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 10/14 U/s 25 Arms Act has been registered at PS Special Cell, Lodhi Colony, New Delhi and investigation was taken up.
During investigation, involvement of one Virpal Singh R/o Khargone, MP, as manufacturer as well as main supplier of illegal arms & ammunition has been revealed. He manufactures and gets delivered illegal firearms to his contacts in Delhi and NCR through one Hambir of village Kareel, Hathras, UP. He supplies weapons to almost every part of the Country. Investigation also revealed that Sanju has been working as a carrier for Hambir, who is the main supplier of illegal arms to Delhi & NCR.
PROFILE OF CRIMINAL :
Sanju S/o Balbir R/o Village Kareel, Tehsil & Distt. Hathras, UP
He was born in 1986 at Village Kareel, Tehsil & Distt. Hathras, UP. His father Balbir is a farmer. He studied upto 5th standard in Govt.School, Kareel. Due to financial crisis, he gave up studies and started helping his father in farming. At the age of 14, he started working as helper with his father. Being unable to make sufficient earnings, he gave up this work in the age of 18 and started labour work in Halwai shop in his own village. In the year 2012, one of his friend got him contacted with Hambir of village Kareel and indulged in illegal business of sale/purchase of firearms from Madhya Pradesh to Delhi & NCR. Subject also wanted to become rich at earliest so he joined Hambir and started working for him as a carrier of illegal firearms from Khargone, MP to Delhi & NCR.
MODUS OPERANDI
Sanju used to go to Khargone by train or by bus. Virpal Singh used to handover the consignment to Sanju and as per directions of Hambir, go to Delhi and NCR and other places in India to deliver the consignment of illegal weapons. After having reached at the designated destination, he used to call Hambir who in turn used to call the receiver to collect the consignment from Sanju. After a short while, the receiver used to come to waiting Sanju and collect the consignment.
Further investigation is in progress.
