Release Notes – HNVE1 Firmware
Honeywell Security Group
Subject: HNVE1 Firmware V6.3.2
HNVE1_6_3_2.hex
Date: December 14, 2009
This updated firmware is an enhancement to Honeywell’s current products. For sites that have satisfactorily installed these cameras to their operational requirement, no update is required.
Changes From Previous Version
· Introduction of 5 Compression ratios – opposite thinking of previous releases where “picture quality” was used. It is now inline with DVM terminology. The table below shows the relationship between new compression ratio and picture quality:
Picture Quality (<=EQUIP 2.1) / Compression Ratio(EQUIP 2.2)Best / Minimum
Low
Better / Medium
High
Good / Maximum
· De-interlacing support at encoder and adapter level for 4CIF resolutions. User can enable or disable de-interlacing filter in Honeywell IP adapter and in firmware. The de-interlacing filter will significantly improve the picture quality.
· Absolute PTZ command support is provided HNVE1 to send the dome to a particular pan, tilt, and zoom position. Adapter has new API for absolute PTZ command and support added in DSP firmware to relay this command to the scan unit. Currently this is supported only in IntelliBus™ protocol.
Installation Procedure
This firmware can be installed using the IP Utility version 1.0.1.20 available at
https://www.honeywellvideo.com/support/downloads/index.html
Upgrade from previous HNVE1 (version >=6.2.0) to current HNVE1:
· Power-on all HNVE1 encoders.
· Click on Batch Firmware upgrade button in IP utility (version 1.0.1.20) and select the devices which you want to upgrade.
· Upgrade HNVE1_632.hex file from IP utility. Select “ok” once the "upgrade successful" message appears.
· HNVE1 encoders automatically reboot
It is important to note that if the PC running the IP utility is directly connecting to a camera, the cable must be an Ethernet crossover cable. Further information regarding an Ethernet crossover cable can be found at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethernet_crossover_cable.
IP Utility and Software Versions
It is recommend that IP Utility Version 1.0.1.20 (or newer) be used to update the software in the target cameras. Version 1.0.1.20 of the IP utility now supports the full suite of EQUIP products and is more robust than the previous versions.
PC Operating System Compatibility
The loader tool must be installed on a PC running Microsoft Windows XP and Windows 2000. Other operating systems are not supported at this time.
System Compatibility
EQUIP V2.2 has been tested with the following:
· DVM adapter 1.01.24 for DVM R300, MAXPRO VMS R140 SP2
· Fusion Version 4
