SBA and ACCESS,How to incorporate in to Differentiated Instruction: How Could That be Possible? --Dr. Isara Sarangarm, Bilingual/Title III Director, Roswell Schools
This session demonstrates the ACCESS and SBA data analysis and interpretation. Teachers will learn strategies to incorporate this data into content lessons to enable their students to use their language proficiency in comprehending the content they are learning.

Young Children’s Cultural Knowledge and Vocabulary through Multicultural Literature—
Dr. Miriam Rosendo, Instructional Coach at La Casita Elementary, Clovis Schoolsand Dr. Romi Hurtado, ENMU professor
The objective of this presentation is to provide educators with several hands-on activities in working with students in Literature.

How to utilize Spanish Language Arts strategies, techniques and activities within the content areas of Math, Reading or Language Arts---Fernando Martin, Education Adviser/Director, Spanish Resource Center of Albuqueruque
One of the best ways to learn a language (mother tongue, second or third language) is to have that language as a tool and not as an end in itself. If we teach our students through content, they will be learning the language by using it. This session for Bilingual and Dual Language teachers in Spanish will provide teachers with ideas and activities which they will be able to implement in their next lesson.

A snapshot of researched –based ELL strategies and NM ELD Standards implemented in a Science unit lesson.

Building Success through Mini Shared Reading--Evelyn Chávez, DLeNM/La Casita Elementary, Clovis, NM
Come find out how mini shared reading, a powerful strategy, increased the English reading levels of fourth grade dual language students. The presenter will share how DRA scores determined groupings, and how the process of mini shared reading is utilized as an intervention resulting in gains in students' DRA levels.

Dual Language Education: Program Design and Implementation---David Rogers, Executive Director of Dual Langauge New Mexico, Albuquerque The essential components of an effective program implementation must align with the aims and objectives of Dual Language Education. In this presentation, we will review a basic primer for identifying these components and for effectively planning Dual Language program implementation. Best practices of 90:10 and 50:50 dual language programs will be shared. Levels: Grade K-12\ English
Establishing and Maintaing Effective Dual Language Programs for Administrators---Dixie Vejil, Principal of Jefferson Elementary, Hobbs Schools
This session will focus on program design, curriculum implementation and the addressing obstacles in a 50-50 Dual Language program. This session is intended for administrators, future administrators and program coordinators. Level: Adminsitrators K-6\ English
