·  US not ME

The disease of ME will ultimately lead to the defeat of US!!

The most difficult thing for individuals to do when they’re part of a team is to sacrifice. It’s so easy to become selfish in a team environment. To twirl for ME. It’s very vulnerable to drop your guard and say, “This is who I am and I’m going to open up and give of myself to the team.” That is exactly what you have to do. You have to do what you are called to do and do it to the very best of your ability even if you think you should be doing another part. It’s an attitude: doing your most for the team will always bring something good for you. And more importantly it will bring something good for the team. Remember, the coaches & your teammates will remember those who strive for

US and not ME!!

·  Schedule

·  We meet weekly from 7-8:30 p.m. every Monday.

·  Bring your shoes and batons with you.

·  Each student will be evaluated and learn one baton, two baton, dance and poms tricks/series. Some students will learn 3 baton series.

·  Soon, we will put these series into a routine that will be from 6-8 minutes long!

·  The only way to learn is to attend practice ON TIME. If you have to miss, please let Miss Rhonda know AHEAD OF TIME. School functions and illness are the only excused misses.

·  Parents are invited to watch on 1/31, 2/28, 3/14 only for the Winter Session. Spring session dates to come.

·  Don’t forget about our corps retreats and the summer camps. They are all mandatory as per your contract.

·  Attitude

·  Be ready to have fun and work. I guarantee you will if you come with the right attitude.

·  Leave your day’s issues/problems at home.

·  Come ready to twirl, be pleasant to your teammates and your coaches, and expect to work.

·  Students will be evaluated each week based on their behavior, effort, and attendance. In May, the coaches will select one representative from each age group to enter the Corps Member of the Year competition at AYOP. The rules state that only ONE member from each corps may be entered in a given age group. This member may or may not be our best twirler in her age group. It will be more based on attitude. I expect hard work, willingness to try, no talking back to coaches, no rolling of eyes. I expect complete respect and willingness to be a part of the team!! Those who give respect will in turn get respect. It’s a two-way street!!
