CRANE OPERATIONS PERMIT APPLICATION FORM
Crane Operations within 6 kms of Cranfield Airport with a height exceeding 10m or that of the surrounding structures or trees have the potential to create air safety hazards and may affect airport operations. To protect the airspace of Cranfield Airport, all crane activities are required by law to be assessed and approved by the Airport.
This form is to be used when operators require to carry out crane operations in the vicinity of Cranfield Airport and it’s safeguarded area.

The crane operator is to read, understand acknowledge the below permit conditions of use:-
1. Confirm that the information supplied on this form is accurate and correct.
2. Confirm that the crane will be lowered outside the daily hours of airport operations, unless otherwise authorised.
3. Confirm that any stipulations made by Cranfield Airport will be adhered to (i.e. crane to be lit, crane to be lowered during period of low visibility etc.,).
Understand that the “British Standard Institute Code of Practice for the safe use of cranes (BS7121 Part 1)” will be adhered to at all times.

This form, once completed by the crane contractor, should be emailed to in order that permission can be granted by Cranfield Airport for the approval of the usage of the crane. Approval permission will be granted once the form has been completed by Cranfield Airport and returned to the crane contractor and will be subject to weather conditions and final confirmation from Air Traffic Control on the day of the lift.
