ITAC Slice Committee- Meeting On Tuesday, June 28, 2016

Dan Webb….alcohol is a problem, we are doing a decent job with younger kids. MS- life skills classes-no surprises

9th and 10th graders- more ready to try….we should focus on 8,9,10……what can we do with this age group. We can do little with 15 and under grade level. The older kids are involved with both alcohol and weed. Underage drinking concern of Joe’s.

Younger population- celebration- speakers- Buff State…reach out to them to get some local college kids. Check with Cassandra and look at Bette’s agenda. Or check with Jessica H. for recommendations. Tap into their compassion for their peers… Gunnar H. – Denny to reach out to him to see if he is interested in becoming a member of ITAC coalition and if he could bring other college students on board. With our coalition. Could Gunner reach out the UB Center for Addiction and make a connection with an administrator and bring them along. Al Demerico – West Side Youth Development – Center for Human and Social Research- DFC grant, and partner for success grant…

UB Center for addiction…search out of school kids- maybe Gunner could reach out

Erikson and Darren Caparso-80 bed inpatient rehab facility- recovery- what age group? Alden- total freedom-only 10 beds…convent in OP/Hamburg..

Student from each grade level- influence maybe an application or interview with us.

Joe D. will interview the kids..4-5- in our group. Send email to teachers…and Mary and Lou- send an email to them to have the recommend. Come up with a list of questions for Joe to ask.

Kids Escaping Drug- Character Counts Club- Mark Sterlace would like be involved. Taylor B. is president.

Coalition Lancaster is doing annual Family Movie Night- August 8th-at Youth Bureau- 200 Oxford Avenue off Aurora. August 2nd- Alden Coalition – Elma is doing at Village Green- National Night Out- promoting ITAC- table – Tuesday evening…5-8pm…booth….tent and table- brochure…survey with a couple of questions…flyer with info with next meeting date 8/18….Carrie at the Town Hall will organize the event. Denny to reserve with Carrie…would you like to join ITAC…add email address….bring a computer

‘Denny to check on selling Water bottles, with stickers- get a price From Elma press, pens- with Character Counts, or ITAC… to have as give-a-ways…Pens from Notable Business- Denny will check on cost.

August 18th meeting agenda: flyer at the August 2nd National Night Out;- Mark will create flyer to hand out
