2018 Essay Scholarship
Eligibility Criteria: The RCEA Scholarship is open to all seniors with a minimum 2.5 G.P.A and enrolled in Richland School District One and Richland School District Two public school systems. Students whose parents/guardians serve on the RCEA Board of Directors are ineligible to apply.
Required Documents:RCEA Essay Scholarship Application
Essay (500 word maximum)
One letter of recommendation froma school official
One letter of recommendation from acommunity member Official transcript
Essay Topic:What Public Education Has Done for Me
Essay must be hand written by the student on lined paper not to exceed 500 words.
Interview:In case of a tie, finalists will be required to undergo an interview with members of the RCEA Scholarship Committee.
Deadline: Required documents must be postmarked byMarch 9, 2018.
Scholarship Amounts:$1,500.00 to one student of a current RCEA member inRichland School District One
$1,500.00 to onestudent of a current RCEA memberinRichland School District Two
AND
$1,000 to one student in Richland School District One whose parent/guardian is NOT currently a member of RCEA
$1,000 to one student in Richland School District Two whose parent/guardian is NOT currently a member of RCEA
The scholarship will be paid directly to the student upon verification ofenrollment in a two or four year accredited institution of higher education.
