EHS Morning Announcements: 11/07/16

Good Morning EHS, today is Monday, November 7th…..Please stand for the pledge.

EHS Drama Performance:

The EHS Drama Club will present Getting Near to Baby next week in the Elyria Performing Arts Center at 7:30PM on Friday and Saturday and at 2PM on Sunday. The EPAC box office will be open from 3-5PM Monday through Thursday, November 7-10 and from 3-4PM on Friday, November 11 and will open two hours before curtain time on performance days to accommodate your ticket purchasing needs. Tickets are $8 for Adults and $5 for Students and Senior Citizens. We accept cash, checks, and credit/debit cards. We’re looking forward to seeing you!

JROTC:

Congratulations to the Elyria High School Army JROTC Drill Team. This past Saturday they competed at the Kenton High School Annual drill Meet and won first place overall as well as 1st place in three of 8 events; the Academic Team; the 1st Year Color Guard Commanded by Destinee Ortiz, and the 1st year unarmed squad Commanded by Kira Webb. Good job cadets!!!

Attention students:

Next week in honor of Veterans Day, LEO Club will be collecting items to send to active duty military members. This will be a grade level competition! Bins will be at the student entrance in the mornings and in the cafeteria during all lunch periods every day. Items to bring include body wash, socks, soap, and Kleenex. A full list of items can be found in classrooms and team offices.

Freshmen and New Students!

Link Crew is hosting a Game Night just for you this Wednesday, November 9th after school until 4pm! This event will take place on the 3rd floor of the Washington Building. We will have all the best video games of 2016 and some of the classics! NBA2K, Madden, FIFA, Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, Michael Jackson Experience, Just Dance and much more! There will also be food and prizes! Bring your ID or your invitation to get in!

FACS Club:

Family and consumer science club will be meeting this Wednesday, November 9th after school. Bring all materials from the fundraiser, they are due now. If you are going to be part of the Culinary Throwdown, you must be in attendance.

HOBY:

Are you a 10th grader and a leader in the school and community? Elyria High School would like to send you to the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership in June. This is a fun-filled weekend of leadership development for students who want to make a positive change in their world. If you have received an application in homeroom, please fill it out and return to Mrs. Holland in the Team 2/4 Office. The deadline is quickly approaching. See Mrs. Holland if you wish to apply or have questions.

NHS Fundraiser:

NHS members wishing to participate in the fundraiser should sign up in 204W. Selling 3 books will cover the cost of your dues. The top seller will get a $25 gift card. More information regarding book pick-up/procedures will be sent to the HRs of those members who sign up.

Bowling Team Tryouts

Tryouts for the Elyria High School boys & girls bowling teams will be held this Wednesday, November 9th at 4pm and Friday, November 11th at 4pm. You only need to attend one tryout date. Tryouts are held at Brunswick Zone bowling center in North Ridgeville.

Class t-shirt’s are here. Small – XL are $10.00 and 2XL are $12.00. See Mrs. Baytos in Room 224 (Periods 1st – 6th) and Room 111 (Periods 7th – 8th)
