CHAMPIONS AND CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS:

Section 20.2. A dog awarded WINNERS at a championship show held under these Dog Show Rules shall be credited with a number of championship points (ranging from 0-5) and the determination of the number of championship points to be credited to a dog awarded WINNERS shall be as provided hereunder.

Section 2. The schedule to be employed in the determination of the number of points to be allocated to a dog awarded WINNERS shall be as follows:

*Dogs Competing / 1 / 2 / 3-5 / 6-9 / 10-12 / 13 and over
Points Allocated / 0 / 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5

*includes dog awarded winners.

In order for a dog to be issued a CKC Championship Certificate the dog must: earn at least 10 Championship points under at least 3 (three) different judges, be individually registered in the records of the CKC or have an Event Registration Number, and have earned at least one 2 (two) point win at the breed or group level.

ENTRY AGREEMENT

I (we) acknowledge that I (we), all exhibitors, handlers and patrons, know and abide by the “CKC Dog Show Rules” and that I am (we are) familiar with their content. I (we) agree that the AMCC has the right to refuse this entry for just cause, which the Club shall deem to be sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of entries made in these all-breed shows, obedience trials, agility trials or any of the associated Specialties, and of the holding of these shows and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prize money, ribbons or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the Red Deer & District Kennel Club and associated Specialty Clubs, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents, or show secretaries, and the owner or lessor of the premises and any employees of the aforementioned parties, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of a dog while in or upon the show premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss of a dog by disappearance, theft, death or otherwise, and from any claim for damage or injury to the dog, whether such loss, disappearance, theft, damage or injury be caused or alleged to be caused by the negligence of the Club(s) or any of the parties aforementioned, or by the negligence of any other person, or any other cause or causes.

I (we) hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify and save the aforementioned parties harmless from any and all loss and expense (including legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties because of bodily injuries, including death at any time resulting therefrom, sustained by any person or persons, including myself (ourselves) or on account of damage to property, arising out of or in consequence of my (our) participation in these shows and trials, howsoever such injuries, death or damage to property may be caused and whether or not the same may have been caused and whether or not the same may have alleged to have been caused by negligence of the aforementioned parties or any of their employees or agents, or any other person.

Foreign born and foreign owned dogs may compete with an Event Registration Number (ERN). This must be obtained within 30 days of obtaining points, awards or scores to avoid cancellation and can be obtained by submitting a copy of your foreign certificate of registration and a fee of $64.07 with a letter of request to the CKC. This ERN replaces a CKC individual registration number for entering events only.

CLASSIFICATION

REGULAR SPECIALTY CLASSES:

The following CKC classes (divided by sex) will be provided:

Junior Puppy: dogs - 6 months of age/under 9 months

Senior Puppy: dogs - 9 months of age/under 12 months

12- 18 month: dogs - 12 months of age/under 18 months

Canadian Bred: dogs - born in Canada, champions in any country excluded

Bred by Exhibitor: dogs - owned and handled in the ring by the breeder

Open: for all dogs over 6 months of age and eligible for registration with the CKC

Veterans:for any dog 7 years or older on the day of the show

Note: Veterans dogs do not compete for Winners, but the winner of this class shall go on to compete for Best of Breed. DOGS COMPETING IN THIS CLASS MAY BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED.

Specials Only: dogs which are registered individually in the records of the Canadian Kennel Club or have an ERN (Event Registration Number) and have attained championship status may be entered in the “Specials Only” Class. Entry of a dog in “Specials Only” is not prohibited on the grounds that the title of champion has not been confirmed by the C.K.C., but if it is found later that the dog had not attained championship status before the entry had been made, then all awards attained at the show will be cancelled. The entry of a “Listed Dog” in this class is NOT allowed, except for foreign born Miniature Dachshunds under one year of age.

Exhibition Only: for all dogs over 6 months of age and eligible for registration with the Canadian Kennel Club

NON-REGULAR SPECIALTY CLASSES:

The following additional Non-Regular classes will be offered. Any dog entered in these classes MUST also be entered in one of the regular classes or for Exhibition Only

Stud Dog & Get: Stud dog and two or more (up to four) of his get. Sire and get need not be owned by the same person.

Brood Bitch & Progeny: Brood bitch and two or more (up to four) of her progeny. Dam and progeny need not be owned by the same person.

As per CKC rules, all dogs entered in these Sweepstakes must be entered in a regular Specialty class. Entry in Juvenile Sweepstakes from the Exhibition Only Class is not allowed. Classes will be divided by age, males and females, in the following age groups:

6-9 months 9-12 months 12-18 months

The winners of all six classes will compete for Best in Sweepstakes and Best of Opposite Sex in Sweepstakes. The AMCC will retain 25% of collected entry fees for expenses. The remaining fees will be distributed as follows:

1st in each class – 25% of entry fees for that class & a rosette
