Minutes of October 20th 2016 meeting at Kim Giffin’s home

Business Meeting

Meeting was called to order by Becky O’Leary at 6:43

Old Business

· September minutes we accepted and approved

New Business

Ø Motion was made by Jane Swanhorst to switch meetings to 6 O’clock during winter month and motion was second by Kim Giffin

Ø Motion was made by Becky O’Leary to keep former and interested people on the CDEC e-mail list on until they asked to be removed. Motion was second by Jane Swanhorst.

Ø Club discussed website options and ideas. Christy Rawlings has been voted in by the club to be the site manager. There are some current limitation, Christy will research potential website changes/options and prepare to bring them to present to the club no later than the January 2017 meeting.

Treasures Report: update given by Becky~ Our CD was renewed at First Interstate Bank we signed into a 5 year CD with 1.4% interest.

Financials need to be audited by end of year. Committee will consist of Beck O’Leary and Kim Giffin will report back to club by end of year.

ByLaws need to be reviewed by end of each even year-2016- Committee consists of Jane Swanhorst, Kim Giffin, and Christy Rawlings and will report back to the club by end of year.

Nominations were made and submitted to committee. Nominations are

Ø Names were accepted and approved.

-Ballet will be sent out via e-mail last week in October by Becky O’Leary.

-Votes need to be submitted no later than November 8th 2016

-Officers will be announced in November meeting on November 17th 2016

FUN DAY AT BECKY O’LEARY’S PLACE

When October 29th 2016 at Noon (12:00)

Where: 12311 Empire Dr. (Becky’s house)

Why: To Celebrate Fall Fun with Horses!

What: Jumps, Trail ride, games, and even a costumes are encouraged!

No meeting in December, we will be having the Holiday party

When: Friday, December 9, 2016 at 6:00 p.m.

Where: Becky O’Leary’s house-Main course will be Ham

-Bring a side dish to share

-Bring a white elephant present if you would like to participate in a game, needs to fit in a brown bag (no brown bag size limit)

- Theme is horse or farm

Club discussed having January meeting being a field trip to the stock show. Will discuss and plan more at November meeting

Club has discussed a possible group trip to Longines FEI World Cup Jumping and FEI World Cup Dressage Finals March 29th-Aprl 2, 2017 in Omaha Ne. Could join OnTheBit group that is making plans to attend for potential group discounts.

We would like to host a neighborhood horse tack garage sale. Looking into possible indoor locations and time (maybe February or March). Plan would be to have a large enough area where a seller (you) would have enough space to set up your items to sell. Seller would be in charge of their own items and be their own bank. This would just be a joined location hopefully close to help bring in more buyers.

Let’s Support OnTheBit dressage club in Laramie. They have a pilates based trainer/rider from Boulder Colorado that comes up every other month for lessons- check out their website or Facebook page for more information.

-OnTheBit is looking into the possibility of hosting a recognized one day Sunday show this summer. So we hope more information is to come! AND they have a beautiful new facility in Laramie which they use and will again do their June Schooling Dressage Show in 2017!

Keep checking the CDEC website for the 2017 membership form and sign up so you can obtain the membership discount for events. 2016 we had 25 members. Let’s try to increase our membership for 2017.

-Start looking for sponsors

-Invite Channels 5 News and/or the local newspaper to do a human interest report on dressage, etc.

-Get more advertising out

-Deeda Randle needs to submit our show to RMDS- it is due by Nov. 15th
