EBFA U11s Trophy Event

The EBFA U11s Trophy Event starts on 01-Oct-16
The event is broken down into a Cup, Plate and Shield competition with 2 stages to each competition.
Stage 1-1 – 01-Oct-16 – Group Stage
Stage 1-2 – 05-Nov-16 – Group Stage
Stage 1-3 – 10-Dec-16 – Group Stage
Stage 2-1 – 21-Jan-17 – Quarter-Finals Knockout Stage
Stage 2-2 – 25-Feb-17 – Semi-Finals Knockout Stage
Stage 2-3 – 22-Apr-17 – Finals
The draw allows in group stage 1 for either 2 home and 1 away match or 1 home and 2 away matches with only 1 bye from the 3 matches if there is an odd number of teams in the group.
Stages 1 Stream Trophy Event Groups:
EBFA U11 STE-Cup Group Stages – Teams from U11 S1-Section A and S1-Section B
EBFA U11 STE-Plate Group Stages – Teams from U11 S1-Section C, S1-Section D and S1-Section E
EBFA U11 STE-Shield Group Stages – Teams from U11 S1-Section F and U11 S1-Section G
Matches in stage 1 GROUPS are played to the EBFA approved U11 rules, except that the results will count towards the ranking of matches in Stage 2 of the trophy event. There is NO extra time and NO penalty shoot-outs in GROUP stage 1 – the result at the end of full time is the result and will be notified to the league in the normal manner.
Stage2–Quarter-Final, Semi-Final and Final Matches
After the end of stage 1 the teams will be ranked by the league (Ranking 1-N) on their results in Group stage 1.
In each STE group competition - the top 8 ranked teams R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7 and R8 will progress to the quarter-finals of each competition.

All finals will be scheduled in the U11 Cup section of FA Fulltime system.
For the quarter-final, semi-final and final matches – these are designated knockout matches and there must be a result on the day. If quarter-final, semi-final and final matches aredrawn at the end of full time, there is extra time of 10 minutes each way. If at the end of extra-time the match is drawn a penalty shoot-out will decide the match. If after 5 penalties from each side the scores are level, then teams will alternate kicks until one side misses, the other having scored their corresponding penalty will be the winner. All team members (including the Goalkeeper) must take penalties in strict rotation. Goalkeeper for the penalty shoot-out must be the keeper who finished the match at the end of extra-time.
