STATE OF ALASKA ACCESSIBILITY PROJECT

DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION & PUBLIC FACILITIES

The following pages are to be included in the review. Please spend an estimated 3 hours on this site (on average – some may be less and some more), including the home page and additional pages listed below as well as completion of the report in the following format. The Alaska Americans with Disabilities Act Coordinator would like information about overall usability and navigability by persons with disabilities. If the home page of this site does not seem to be usable, check a few other pages, note your findings on the form below, and move on to another site.

511 - Traveler Information no headers. information about highways is not accessible

*Alaska Marine Highway System - State Ferries could schedule a ferry. Finding which selection of vessel, date and price I was selecting was not clear. So I just selected one. This would be better if the link was in the date, time or something similar. However, I did not put in credit card information for obvious reasons, so do not know if I could complete the transaction

Aviation/Airportslinks are preceded by specs and graphic. Distracting from the audio announcement of the true name of the link. Only 1 header.

*Civil Rights/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program only two headers. Links are full of jargon

Design & Construction Standardsunclear to whom this page is directed (purpose) not good use of headers,

Highway Safety not enough descript headers above lists

Measurement Standards & Commercial Vehicle Enforcement good

*Needs List/Statewide Transportation Improvements Program (STIP)says "new updates" which bog the audio user down. Rather have the headers be more descript than "news update." Also rather not have to go through all the updates to get to trip planning.

Ports & Harborslinks to documents are not descript. Headers v. lists

*Right of Way Permitting Onlinelists that are not described in summary with header

Southeast Right of Way Plats & Survey Datapurpose?
