Changes to Saturday Morning Surgery

The Saturday morning surgery at Windhill is for booked appointments only. No extraemergency or walk-in appointments will be available. Once all the appointments are booked patients will be directed to telephone 111 to access the Out of Hours Service. The telephones will be transferred to the 111 service as soon as the appointments have been filled. This may mean you are unable to telephone the surgery at all on a Saturday morning. However we are open for you to pick up prescriptions or letters.

Extended Access Services.

Extended access is a new servicebeing rolled out across Bradford over the next 18 months. Patients registered with GP practices in Bradford will be able to access primary care services (GP practices) outside of normal surgery hours. The service will operate from a small number of locations (hubs) across the area. Patients may need to travel a bit further to use extended access services. The CCG are working withpatients and the public to understand where the best locations for this service will be. The extended access service will offer appointments with GPs (this may not be your usual GP), physiotherapists, welfare and benefits advice, weight management, healthy eating and community activity sessions.

The CCG will be developing this service over the next 18 months. From December 2017 some weekend appointments will be on offer from the Westbourne Green Hub. Plans are in place to open a second hub in April 2018 and at least one further hub in October 2018. By

October 2018 all patients across Bradford will have access to extended access services.

Because of the success of the programme Jenni has also set up exercise classes and a weekly swimming group a support group for patients/carers.
