GRADED PAPERS folder goes home most Wednesdays. The students are to correct all wrong answers first with their red pencil, have you sign the cover sheet after all corrections are complete, and return the folder by Tuesday of the next week. Do not erase wrong answers.
MATH SKILLS in third grade will include large number addition and subtraction, mastery of multiplication facts through twelve, and basic division. We will also be working on telling time, fractions, and decimals. Everyone should come to third grade knowing the basic addition and subtraction facts. It is important for students to practice the multiplication math facts at home nightly with the flashcards that will be kept in their backpacks.Students are expected to earn at least FOUR Mathletics Certificates every quarter. This will count as a Test Grade for Math.
READING:Accelerated Reader Requirements for each 9 weeks (Students are to be reading chapter books on their reading level. They need to achieve an 80 or better on their tests.) This will count as a Test Grade for Reading. They should read at least 6 books during the quarter. Since they are to be reading 30 minutes every night we expect them to take at least one AR test a week.
